This is an awesome deal I paid twice this a year ago. The software is terrible, but if you use it without the software, it is great. Pretty much like the more expensive scarlet but with a single input. Great for streamers and content creators if they are only recording themselves.

What if you're recording two people for a podcast but not collocated? Useful for your own recording?

That would work too. You would just combine the recordings some via software if you're going to make it one recorsing. they have the two input one for 69.99 as well.

I have been using the Focusrite Scarlett Solo and it's fine, but the gain is a bit low with dynamic mics.
Since Shure SM7B is in one of the product pictures, I'd guess the Vocaster Solo has a more powerful preamp, even though this is a lower end product than the Scarlett?

You get on the Focusrite Website the Vocaster One + Microphone and Cable + Headset for 44 (refurbished) or 49 (new). IMHO the better deal, even if the microphone doesn't look that interesting.

Yeah, I'm not interested in the bundled mic and headphones, but a XLR cable for $10 is probably worth it. Not sure about its shielding quality, though.

Great deal. It is also the same price on the Focusrite website. The only negative is Amazon states 1 to 2 months to ship. The Vocaster Two ships next day ($30 more) . I sent an inquiry to Focusrite asking what is their shipping estimation. I can provide an update if received

The same price is everywhere: B&H, Target.... It's even available on eBay with $1.99 shipping. You do not have to wait for 1-2 month from Amazon.

After reviewing these deals, I searched on the Focusrite site and settled on this $99 package, which is an incredible deal. In for one and great reviews on the mic!

That microphone is awful, even at the ~$50 you're paying for it. That goes for all focusrite mics AFAIK.

I see it's sold out on Amazon for the One, but I have the Two and have been happy with it. I only use it as a gaming interface to support nicer headphones and XLR mics, and it's impressive I think. The fact that it has a physical button for mute is mainly why I was interested in it, and the Two has a bluetooth capability which I've used for spamming sound clips from another computer. The bluetooth audio has a sort of sleep-mode that it needs to be woken out of after a period of no audio, so I had to come up with a way of keeping the audio connection up by playing silence in the background (quirky, but somehow I got LMMS, a free Linux audio workstation, to do that task, but I'm sure there are other better methods). This use case is pretty niche, but I wanted to mention it since it was a quirk I really noticed/was frustrated by. I think the One is less attractive because of the lack of bluetooth, but I think it would be a perfect gaming audio interface if you want to just want to use pro audio gear. The software is a little weird, I had to install an older version and I think the latest version finally started working after a bunch of Windows updates (I'm guessing). I don't think they've updated the software in a couple years, but it's not a deal breaker. The audio enhancements are not good for my use cases, and people have told me I sound better with them off (a little compression isn't so bad, but the 'big bottom' and other eq tricks were not worth it for me). Bottom line, there are so few audio interfaces that give you a physical mute button (and it's nice that it lights up as red when muted), I think this is worth it if you want the assurance of being able to mute (e.g. for working from home) without relying on software, a keyboard combination, or something like a stream deck. Every alternative is more expensive, and the quality of the interface is hard to beat for the price. I use a 70 something ohm pair of headphones and the volume is super sensitive; don't quote me but I think it could handle 600 ohm headphones with no problem. I have also used a 250 ohm pair and never had a volume issue.

Wait, how do you know it is awful? Amazon Reviews rate it very good.
