Lenny and Larry's Complete Cookies are dense, filling protein cookies that work best as an emergency snack or dirty bulking treat, with flavors like peanut butter chocolate chip, white chocolate, birthday cake, and lemon poppy drawing the most praise. The deal price is also seen as better than the usual convenience store price. The main drawback is the nutrition label, with around 440 to 500 calories per cookie, about 20 grams of sugar, and only 16 grams of protein. Texture and taste can be hit or miss, with some flavors described as chemically or dry, and digestive issues are also reported.
The white chocolate variety tastes good and makes the lineup feel more worth trying.
The unit price is described as a good deal versus typical convenience-store pricing.
The cookies can work as an emergency work-bag snack because they fill you up without melting like protein bars.
Lower saturated fat and cholesterol are cited as advantages compared with "real" cookies.
The birthday cake flavor is described as a standout option.
Several comments call the macros poor and the taste unpleasant, including claims of a chemically aftertaste and "play-doh" texture.
Many varieties are criticized for having too much sugar, with around 20g sugar cited.
The nutrition label is criticized for using a half-cookie serving size that can make nearly 500 calories per cookie feel misleading.
The regular chocolate flavor is described as tasting like chemicals, while other flavors still may not match expectations.

For some reason this has been happening a lot. Does anybody have any insight into this?

For folks on about the sugar content or "macros", these aren't for gymrats. This is something to have on hand that tastes alright and fills you up.
Having had all of the L&L line.
Only the Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Lemon Poppy, Snickerdoodle, and maybe the brownie are worth it. Everything else is meh to bad. The chocomint are the worst, and the Lemon Poppy has been hit or miss on quality with more miss than hit.
The texture isn't exactly cookie like, see: vegan. Its dense, and it really varies between batches how dry it is. The variance is less or at least less noticable with the chocolate chip ones (normal or peanut butter)
I have one of these in my work bag at all times. If you miss lunch or are hungrier than you expected, it's better than a trip to the vending machine and will actually fill you up. And more importantly, won't melt and turn into a sticky mess like a protein bar.

They even advertise it as 16g of protein, which is technically two servings according to the label.
