Wish this were an automatic but this is a beautiful watch. I just wonder what shade the face really is. I say that because I once bought a SNE529, which has a lighter green face, from JomaShop and I returned it because the face was so dark in person that I thought they shipped me the wrong watch with a black/dark gray face.

Any idea if this code applies to other Seikos?

Maybe try and find a video review online about this model, SSB385? I'm thinking a video or customer photos can give you a better idea.

Also, I believe this code takes off an extra $7 on most watches sitewide but It doesn't stack with other codes.

Chronograph with automatic movement will make it much more expensive. Then you would complain about it being out of budget.

I have this watch and can confirm it's a very attractive watch. I get a lot of compliments. Might be able to send you a picture.

There are more photos on this watch on the Walmart site, it does look much darker in some of them.

In general a quartz movement will be more accurate but you'll have to replace the battery every few years(less frequent with solar powered e.g. eco drive). The automatic you won't need to replace any battery since it's mechanically powered and charged by your physical movement when you wear the watch or by winding. There are also size effects that come into play but it's not completely universal that every quartz watch is thinner than every automatic watch. Quartz does allow watches to be thinner though. I have a few quartz watches but all but one have dead batteries. Personally I lean towards automatic so I don't have to worry about the batteries. If you're only going to have one or two watches, then it probably doesn't matter and maybe even quartz is ultimately easier/less of a hassle.
