DeWalt DXAEOBD Professional 1 Amp Battery Maintainer for Use with 20V DeWalt Lithium Battery Pack

It plugs in to your OBD port and maintains your vehicle battery via a Dewalt 20-volt battery. Or you might use it to maintain the vehicle's settings while you swap out the battery.

$10.89

The price on this really fluctuates.

There might be a coupon too - if you can ship it to the 'MidAtlantic' region.

Update: I think it is out of stock.

Man this keeps getting cheaper. This is a backup for changing batteries in a car not a charger or a maintainer really. Most bad reviews are people who didn't read the directions fwiw

Oh my god, people think they can keep their car battery going for months on a little tool battery?!? I kind of want to buy this just so I can leave a good review.

Would someone that bought this please confirm for me if they got theirs in a plain brown box versus the DeWalt retail box? Thanks in advance!

Maintain your vehicle battery using your own DeWalt 20 volt lithium battery packs (not included) , the DeWalt DXAEOBD Battery Maintainer is compatible with AGM, GEL or WET automotive batteries. Simply plug the unit into your vehicle's OBD-II port, attach your own DeWalt 20V lithium battery pack and you are ready to maintain your vehicle's battery. LED indicator shows charging status. This unit has a Memory Saver that preserves car settings while charging your car battery for systems such as radio, seats, clock and dashboard settings. Alsoo works with the DeWalt FlexVolt battery on the 20V setting.

there are four images of yellow boxes in the reviews.

and, on a related note, it 'ships in product packaging'.

I saw those pics too which is why I asked if others got what I got. I chatted with customer service and had them send another because it wasn't in the retail box and got the same thing again. Both had "shipped from Baccus Global" on the box which is who licensed the DeWalt name for these, but it still bugged me.

This thing's show up as $7.62 for me, but problem is - I don't have any Dewalt batteries. Does anybody know if this thing is just a simple 20v to 12-14-ish volts DC step down converter with a ODB port made on it?

My thought would be to pick this up and try to mod it to work with Ridgid 18V batteries but I want to make sure it doesn't have any sophisticated circuitry that needs to play nice with Dewalt specific batteries.

I really only want to use this thing when I swap out my car battery. I have no intention of keeping this plugged in for top-off purposes. There's lots of cool stuff like this for Dewalt and Milwaukee batteries but little to nothing for Ridgid.
