Intel Arc B580 12GB is a strong budget card for 1080p and 1440p gaming, especially with newer CPUs where it avoids the overhead issues seen on older chips. Intel driver updates have reportedly fixed many Arc problems, including Battlefield 6, and Lossless Scaling can stretch performance to 4K well. The main drawback is flaky control panel software that sometimes needs a clean reinstall. Linux and Unraid support also draw complaints, so it fits best in a modern Windows build.

  • Windows gamers who are willing to keep drivers/control panel updated because multiple commenters report Intel driver updates fix many Arc-series issues over time, even if the control panel software sometimes breaks and needs reinstalling.

  • 1080p/1440p gamers who want strong price-to-performance because commenters say they've been very happy with the card for 1080p/1440p gaming and that Lossless Scaling can even upscale to 4K well.

  • PC builders with newer CPUs (AMD AM5 or equivalent Intel) because community feedback says performance is best with newer processors and older chips can add CPU overhead in CPU-intensive games (though it's still workable).

  • People who specifically want to play Minecraft because a commenter confirmed this card can play Minecraft.

  • Unraid users because one commenter reported HDR tone problems and said Linux drivers are bad on Unraid.

  • Buyers who care about the free-game promotion because one commenter said the deal is a dealbreaker since only one game is offered and they would only be interested if specific other games (like Killing Floor 3 with all DLC) were included.

  • Gamers comparing value against a used RTX 3070 at a similar price because a commenter said a used RTX 3070 for $220 would be a better value and is about 50% faster.

  • People looking for the best option for Plex transcoding because a commenter questioned whether this Arc card is the right choice for Plex (and whether it would be overkill for 4K transcoding) versus other options.

It is a pretty good card as long as you are using a newer cpu, am5 for ryzen or equivalent generation for intel. older chips create an overhead issue with cpu intensive games that can be a pain in the butt, still workable just nowhere near the proper perfrmance. that said it is not a bad card by any stretch and is well priced, even with a 0% discount lol.

FYI: The latest drivers fix a lot of the problems the Arc series had with BF6. Including the previous gen Arc's (i.e. B750), though some people claim use the Intel site supplied drivers, not the Windows update version.

Can confirm, I've had a few issues over my ~6 months with this card and Intel pushes a lot of updates that seem to fix many/most issues I've come across.

My only gripe is how often the control panel software seems to break, though it's a pretty simple fix reinstalling it from the extracted package.

On the whole, I've been very happy for 1080p/1440p gaming, especially for the price. I'll add that Lossless Scaling even works well for upscaling to 4K, too.

I had that problem and found a couple posts saying that checking the box for a full/clean install during the update fixes it, and it did for me. No problem with the last 3(?) updates since I did the clean install.

Nice! That's awesome. I check that every time, too, and I've had to reinstall it manually maybe 3-4 times that I can remember as it doesn't work. Given the price to performance and that stock settings are mostly fine, not too big of a deal to me.

id be more interested if killing floor 3 with all DLC was offered or all those games for free ,
just one game kills the deal for me
Yeah, you're right, they should definitely give out 4 games currently priced at $270 for free alongside your $250 video card purchase.

I dont play games, but we use plex media server. Is this "the best" graphics card for plex transcoding? I remember hearing that ARC was the way to go for plex. Wondering if it was this ARC card or something else (ie would this be overkill for what i want to do, even with 4k transcoding)

Laughed at their comment as well.

I would buy one of these if they gave me money too.

edit: To be clear I do have this GPU, came with BF6 and sold the game code.

I would DEFINITELY get a used RTX 3070 on ebay for $220 instead. It's 50% faster.
