Some of their brushed older models tools are still worth it when found on sale... Im not a brushless only snob, but this set is not a keeper. Tried it out and it got returned very quickly. Some brushed tools still perform close to their brushless counterparts, close in power, just larger and less efficient with battery life, this one does not even compare to the fuel versions. The fuel versions are by far my favorite set of power tools in my inventory, skip this and spend a little more on the fuel. Now something like the brushed m12 ratchet, worth it compared to the fuel version in savings and performance you still get out of it.

Are these comparable to the Ryobi kit that's also on sale now @ HD? I need an extra knockin' around set that will perform work around the house and I won't be too broken up if it grows legs and walks off.

Comes every year and even during the year sometimes. These are the low end brushed models. Good for weekend house hold projects and light weight too. For frequent DYIers these may not be good enough because they will need frequent charging. Overall good for the price.

Eh, YMMV. These M12 non-Fuel drivers have been my primary screw/impact drivers for home use for about six years. I'm pretty handy, so I take care of all home maintenance, repairs, projects, etc. I've used them plenty in the house and on the property, and they've worked great. For $100, I think they are a pretty good value for the average homeowner/DIYer. I don't doubt the Fuel version are more capable, but I can't recall feeling that these were lacking for any task I reasonably expected them to accomplish.
