The SP36 Pro stands out as a very bright, high value Sofirn flood light, with three 18650 batteries powering a beam that can feel almost absurdly bright. It has also held up well over years for some, and the battery bundle alone helps explain the price. The main knocks are that the output can look harsh and blue at 5000K plus, and a few recent units have seemed less bright or arrived defective. AliExpress ordering also brings support and return hassles, so it is a strong pick if brightness matters more than warm tint or easy after sales help.

  • The SP36 Pro can run on three 18650 cells and delivers very high output for demanding use.

  • The SP36 has reportedly performed well for years and matched its paid price.

  • The SP36 Pro deal can be supported by the idea that the included 18650 batteries represent a large portion of the total cost.

  • Some Sofirn store purchases shipped from the USA have reportedly received faster replies than AliExpress orders.

  • AliExpress orders can arrive defective and returns may involve a heavy photo and video process that is hard to complete.

  • Customer support for AliExpress orders can be slow or unresponsive, including cases where China support took weeks.

  • The SP36 Pro output can feel less impressive than earlier purchases, even after fully charging.

  • A 5000K+ output can look blue, and a 3000K option may be preferred for warmer light.

I will try that. But, the tracking has no new scan or update. Not sure, how the system can process this if it doesn't know where the package is. I hope it "returns to srnder" and I receive it. I would be very wary of buying from alix unless alix improves their cluttered site and make communication easier. In both last returns, the seller was being dismissive and had to escalate the issue directly to alix. Also, they require not only photos but video and then their system can't upload large video and you have to scramble to find app to shorten or reduce the video mb. I would be upset if my other three are also defective that Ai am outside of return window
no, i dont think it will go back. you call usps at usps.com # or file form, you provide your tracking # and name and address from and to, so they can verify it's you. then you ask them to update delivery address to.... and hopefully it will work. no guarantees unfortunately.

I ordered two SP36 Pros from the AliExpress. One worked and one didnt. Contacted the customer support on the Sofrin website. They told me I had to deal with China customer support because I ordered from AliExpress. Three weeks, and no response from China customer support. Then three emails in row asking for my order number. Clearly a fatigue tactic that unfortunately worked, because I gave up. So if you order a Sofrin from AliExpress, assume little to no customer support even if you get a flashlight that doesnt work.

did you buy from aliexpress sofirn store that ships from the usa? if so, i bought 3 or 4 lights from that store and the replies has been usually within 24 hrs (usually faster if you just add +12 hrs from ET and msg me them in the evening). I did have 1 issue as well of the lost flashlight and once they confirmed, I think that took 2 or 3 days, they reshipped it...

but, ymmv, and I would def talk to place where you bought it from vs sofirn.com or amazon, as those people likely only covering their own storefronts and cannot access your order or verify anything...

Every one puts out ugly blue 5000k+ light. I want a 3000k light.
If you want a 3000K light, then order a 3000K light. Every light from a reputable company tells you what color temperature it is before you buy it. There are also 3 or 4 places online that review most of these lights, and show pictures of the beam, color temperature, and tint, with commentary and explanations of what you are getting.

Precisely why I wait for Amazon deals - won't buy from AliExpress.

Precisely what? Your theory only holds if you give up and let yourself be dissuaded from what is due you. A two minute phone call would have gotten the money back and since Amazon wants $30 more I do not see the value. What he describes is like me whining I got a bad item from Costco and take the loss as I do not feel it right I have to do the work to get my money back. The way I see it is that Ali or Sofirn did not cheat that person they cheated themselves.

There is great danger in accepting that belief. All purchases are a gamble and things do not always go well. If you throw up your hands in despair while focusing on the false belief that things like that should never happen you set yourself up to lose by giving up. I have witnessed that with sums of money much much larger than this flashlight. American companies both big and small do not always deliver what they promise. Builders, mechanics, plumbers all do the same and i have witnessed so many give up and lose tens of thousands that it shocks me. When I talk to the people they gripe and focus on what they should have not had to do yet when I ask what steps they took to get redress they fall back on the idea that they shouldn't not have to do anything and it was so frustrating that they gave up. Most had let things drag out so long while focusing on the injustice of the situation yet took no active steps to make it right and it is to late now.

While some cringe in terror of Ali deals I have made about $1000 flipping the stuff. That is also an injustice to yourself.

Help:
I bought a SOFIRN HS42 based on this post. I got it, saw the note to remove the paper disk and removed one from the battery compartment. I don't know if there is another one on the bulb side (The instruction I got, shows a circular unit for the bulb but HS42 is sort of rectangle) and I could not open that side.

When I switch on, nothing come on. I tried all tricks given in the downloaded manual with no help. When U connect it to the charger, the green light comes on immediately.
Any help? TIA

Yes.

I just realized I printed and sent in the latest return to a different address that was for previous return in September. Their website is so confusing. I printed the wrong label for the last one and dropped it in a mail box in local usps. There is no update on it except the last return in September. What's the recourse in situation like this? Does usps "return to sender" if the label is already used?
That's a good question. I'm actually a USPS carrier and I haven't ran into this before. Give me a bit and I'll try to get an answer for you.

Had to replace a couple of SP36 Pros. Jumped on this deal and received them just yesterday. Even fully charged I swear they're not as bright as the ones initially purchased a couple of years ago.

After watching the Project Farm on flashlights, I'm most interested about light output after 15 minutes. Can anyone with Sofirn lights speak to this?

FYI, costco currently has a 7000 lumen flashlight on sale for $30 in warehouse. It also has a usb-c rechargable lithium battery that doubles as a portable power bank, and can run off AA batteries (included).

I feel like it's 2008 again and I'm learning about CREE LED's, willing to spend way too much on a flashlight.

But now its 2025 and the lights are brighter. Feeling like I've been under a rock, the compulsion strikes once again.
