It's subsidized by state malware. It's very similar to how Ring/Blink camera footage is processed through Amazon servers for AI training and sharing with Flock/LEOs. Similarly the US government and Saudi Arabian government purchased EA games so they pretty much have a back door on any windows PC that has Xbox Games/ EA App installed. Generally if something tech-related is free or cheap, 9/10 times it's because they're making money off of your data. The sad part is more and more companies are realizing they can charge more and sell your data.

This never stops unless everyone stops giving them money.

I'm pretty sure these cheap Chinese mini-PCs usually come with Windows preinstalled, but you're probably going to want to do a clean install anyway, or use Linux

Very likely comes with Windows out of box, though I recommend reinstalling it using your own media if Windows is your preferred OS -- just in case.

Some conflicting info across different markets. Pictures show dual 2.5gb Ethernet ports (which I am inclined to believe) while the description says dual 1gbps.

Wifi 6 is also an interesting decision in 2025. I'm assuming this is due to either lowest bidder manufacturing to save on costs, or because of a physical limitation of the antenna due to size constraints of the mini PC form factor. It's still a nice to have option, nonetheless.

I bought their Firebat A6 a little while back, and I like it! If this was available at that price I would have went with that! I would recommend you back up your drivers, and reinstall windows. That's just me. I haven't seen this torn down, but I would bet it's only a single stick of ram like the A6. I removed the grill that probably works as a rf shield and heatsink for your ram and storage. I was adding a second nvme for batocera, and I didn't have another thick piece of thermal pad. I just put heatsinks individually on the nvmes that I had laying around. Mine is weaker than this one. Mine has the 6800h and 680m IGPU, but it works great for me!

edit; it looks like it says it comes with 2 sticks of 8gb ram which dual channel work work better than single channel especially when the IGPU allocates it. Also the USB c on mine was probably around 10Gb/s, but I could get video through it. It would not power the A6 though. My monitor supports video and charging through USB C, but the A6 doesn't power the device through C. That would have allowed me to use just one cable for video, power, and plugging accessories through the monitor. This A5P seems to be equally mysterious about their USB C port.

In the photos within the description HDMI has conflicting specs, one says 2.1 one says 2.0

I misread the DP, thought it meant 1.4. DP 2.0 is good.
