KEF's Q Concerto Meta is a large 3 way bookshelf speaker that stands out for bass depth, dynamic punch, and a broad soundstage, especially in larger rooms or home theater setups. The $1,000 pair price is called a strong deal and matches recent KEF and retailer pricing. Proper amplification matters, since the speakers are described as demanding 4 ohm loads that can sound warm, dark, or even bright if the setup is off. The main tradeoff is that they are not the most forgiving choice, so pairing and room size matter. A solid option when you want KEF scale without moving to towers.

  • The Q Concerto Meta can be a strong value deal in the $1,000 class when discounted from the higher street price.

  • The Q Concerto Meta can deliver greater bass depth and dynamic capability for larger rooms when paired with the right amplification.

  • The speakers can sound much better when they are powered properly with sufficient amplifier stability and overhead.

  • The speakers can work well for bedroom theater setups and can pair effectively with home theater amplification.

  • The Q Concerto Meta can be very demanding on amplification, and an AVR rated around 60W per channel may not provide enough power or stability.

  • The Q Concerto Meta can sound treble-light in a large room, which may not suit listeners who want more top-end energy.

  • The Q Concerto Meta can sound muffled and dark during auditioning, which can lead to disappointment.

  • The Q Concerto Meta can be perceived as too bright by some listeners, and that can result in returns.

I think this is for rich people or is it hand made, is it made of gold, or are you out of your mind ?
It's called HiFi. Same reason why Ladies buy expensive bags. Some people chose to buy cars. You will never fully understand. Guess what, there are lot of more expensive speakers than this.

The best sounding bookshelf speaker in Kef's lineup is/was the Q150 paired with musical sub. Very surprisingly, it had much better frequency response (better bass) than the larger 6.5" Q350. The 150 was basically the same speaker as the more expensive LS50, in a more budget exterior. The reason why is that that Kef has put much more R&D and time tuning that 5-1/4" speaker than any of the rest of their lineup. The meta line is basically the same thing as the old gen sound wise - there is very little conclusive evidence so far that the meta line actually sounds better than the non metas (e.g. q150, q650, etc). Thus, I wouldn't bother with a 6.5" speaker like this from Kef.
I disagree. I have Q150 and a LS50 Meta. The LS50 Meta is a league above the Q150. The imaging, transparency and soundstage is above the Q150.

Have the LS 50 metas. Some say these are better than the metas if you don't have a sub.

Seems like a great price.
These are 3 way so it most likely has better low end.

How do these compare to the LSX II LT that were on sale for $600 a couple of weeks ago?
Apples and Oranges. The LSX are small speakers. This with proper amplification is better than the LSX.

The KEF LS50 Meta excels in clarity and midrange finesse, the Q Concerto Meta offers greater bass depth and dynamic capability for larger rooms, and the LSX II provides wireless flexibility with decent sound performance for smaller spaces or casual use. Your choice depends on priorities in bass, convenience, room size, and budget.I have the LS50s and the LSXII. The LSX fits on my desktop, the other two cannot. Reg. a musical sub, you need and I find the SVS micro goes well to complement, but is not too much of a jump up from the budget Jamos 810s or I don't have golden ears Smilie You do need good DACs/Amps to go with the LS50/ Q Concertos. Budget wise, consider the Kantos for desktop though. Read up ASR, erin though before you decide how you tradeoff.
My LS50 Meta on a dedicated DAC (Cambridge Audio 200M) and Power amp using balanced outputs is heavenly music to my ears.

I found them too bright and returned them.
I also returned a Porsche GT3 RS last week. It was just too loud for me.

Thanks for that! Cool Wasn't sure if KEF normally has a decent Black Friday sale....Been eyeing a pair of stand-mount R3 Metas in Indigo Blue... Fingers-crossed for Black Friday! yummy
Consider this a Black Friday sale. The good deals are usually before Black Friday.

I got Emotiva basx a3 which is powerful enough for these.
I reviewed these for HTF with an Emotiva TA2. Highly recommend the combo.
I use a 7 channel BasX for my home theater tho. Smilie

Per Kef's website:

Q150: Frequency Response 51Hz-28kHz (±3dB)
LS50 meta: Frequency Response 79 Hz - 28 kHz (±3dB)

That is a huge difference. LS50 metas cost 3x as much and perform significantly worse in one of the most basic and universal measures of a speaker's performance. LS50 metas are massively overrated and overpriced.
