As for the durability concern, I can see how it could be an issue if you pull on the ear cups often, causing frequent stress on the hinge, fatiguing it and breaking it. Definitely looks like a weak design, seems to be a tradeoff to try to minimize weight. I plan to try and mostly grab/pull on the headband part to reduce the stress on that hinge part.

Secondipity is a legit retailer and I wonder where they get so many of these. $105 was a steal, they sound as good if not better than my Airpods Max.
