In fact, I just did a week ago using the bottle I got on a similar deal months ago. Had to change the battery in my wife's car, and the terminal clamps and bracket were caked in corrosion. This spray is a quickly expanding yellow foam that turns pink as it reacts with the acidic corrosion. It was messy but did the job. Rinse with water. You do still have to brush and probably repeat. I had to chip away at the heaviest corrosion, but this spray did its job and got me to bare metal. I then used felt corrosion inhibiting pads and applied dielectric grease liberally, neither of which did I use last time.

OR, you can spend a buck on some baking soda and a used tooth brush. I've spent about $2 on this method over the last 40 years …it never fails.

Don't forget to swab the battery posts with petroleum jelly when replacing a battery. No corrosion in decades!

I'm gonna try this spray. That said, warm water and baking soda with a toothbrush have always worked great for me and always available.

I remember my dad using a can of coke back in the day and swearing by it, lol. I'm sure baking soda or this spray would work much better.

Serious question here.... why have I never had battery posts corrode in my 40yrs of being around cars?

Datsun (510 and 280z WOO HOO!) , VW, Nissan, Toyota, Subaru, Ford, Mazda.... battery terminals always look like, well... battery terminals. No corrosion ever. Never treated with any felt disks, red spray, baking soda, etc... nothing.

Cars mostly parked outside... some get barely 3k/yr, some drive 15k miles year, some park indoors.

I'm gonna guess it's my enviroment... east of seattle a bit

I was actually thinking the same thing when reading this, absolutely no corrosion for me either, except I'm a little further east across the mountains.

When working as a mechanic, we just used grease as it was available. Don't know what would make petroleum jelly better.
