Good timing to post a warning - these computers have a major design flaw where the hinge breaks with standard use. The metal hinge is attached with screws to plastic that gets brittle over time. Lenovo won't cover this under a warranty claim and call it "accidental" damage and charge you to fix it. I'm currently fighting them over this. If you decide to buy, accidental damage protection is a necessity.

I got the same device with and i5 processor and 8gb ram for $330. My wife uses it daily and she really likes it. Battery life and touchscreen are great. She says if she could change 1 thing would be the track pad. She says when you click it, it feels cheap. But she knows to double tap vs click. As far as the hinge they mentioned here, you probably would have to be a little extra aggressive to break it... if you use it moderately I don't think you'll have a hinge issue.

Yup, i found a lot of hinge problems when I almost bought one of these two weeks ago and read up on them. Will avoid.

Been using one for about a year now

Pros:
  • Good battery
  • Relatively powerful
Cons:
  • Trackpad is a little loud when clicking
  • Tablet mode is super cumbersome, so I rarely use it that way
  • I knew about the hinge flaw, so I've been babying it and avoiding using the hinge too much
    • The vent blows directly on the bottom of the screen, so I try to use it closed or in tent mode when doing anything intensive
  • The metal logo on the wrist wrest has scratched the edge of the screen, and the one on the outside has scratched other things I've placed next to it in a backpack

Currently on my 5th IdeaPad / Yoga....zero hinge problems even if I use them all...day....long. It just baffles me how people are endlessly regurgitating this same bad info as if it is somehow useful.

And frankly in every single laptop thread regardless of manufacturer you'll find similar complaints....is the solution to not buy a laptop? LOL
