This chip is better than reviewers would lead you to believe. The only way is a "bad" chip is if you have a 5090 and a 480Hz 1080 monitor.

At 4K with a 4080S, I barely see a difference between my 275K & 9800X3D.

Sure the X3D is better, but FPS/$$ is better on the 265K at this price.

i think this is a great deal. ram little slow but good for work & gaming both.
already have 9800x3d + b650ef and 265k + asrock z890 pro a, well 9800x3d better for gaming but
overall i love my 265k system.

Most CPU testing is done at 1080p, but cpu bound scenarios are common at 1440p and 4k as well. You can tell when they occur by seeing frame drops when your gpu utilization isn't at 100%. BlackbirdPC did gaming fps testing in cpu bound scenarios on 9800x3d and 265k at different resolutions, and while 9800x3d wins at both averages and lows at 1080p, the 1% and 0.1% at higher resolutions are lower than the 265k, because stuff is too big to fit in the 3d vcache, and 265k has a better memory controller.
