It's tedious, but check out Home Depot. They have mighty max batteries of numerous shapes and electrical capabilities.
I'm picking up two tomorrow to install into two APC ups units.
Yeah I poked around there, I think the best I found was a 4-pack of Gel batteries for $100 (so, $25/ea) - not horrible but nowhere near as good as $12/ea could have been.
If you search for 12v batteries you'll find a LiFePo4 8Ah battery for $19.99, with the same 40% off coupon. $12 for an 8Ah battery is pretty good. The ones on sale are usually $16.
That really depends on the application, lithium iron phosphate (lifepo4) let alone lithium ion batteries don't handle being charged to 100% very good, in fact that's what drastically ages them, so something with some kind of alternator would be a bad choice for one of those. Lead acid or agm would be the way to go.

Helpful. But worth also noting that, since this is going to be a motorcycle/ATV/utility battery that will likely sit unused during the winter months, that there are chargers that let you select the battery type, and keep the LiPo batteries charged at around 80%. Most vehicles don't have this feature, thus alternator charging to 100% as you stated. But the lifespan is still significantly higher. Is it worth the additional cost? Depends entirely on the cost. I've had one lead acid car battery last ten years, and another six months (replaced under warranty).
