Essentially free 16GB RAM + free CPU cooler. Will want to throw in another 16-32GB RAM to be efficient but is this not a solid deal?
it is not ideal to have more than 2 sticks of ram if you can help it. And yes it is a decent start to a budget build. You could probably sell all of these parts and make some profit tbh
Given the price of RAM, this is a very solid deal. Tough to see how it gets a whole lot better going into the holidays. I've used this motherboard with 6 core CPUs and up to the 9800X3D CPU, and it's solid. Probabaly not the best if you need more than 8 core CPU.
Solid mid range starter option, especially with the current RAM stupidity. Throw in a power supply, 2tb ssd and a 9060xt plus case and a very nice pc for under 750
also available ASUS B850 ATX, with same 2x 8GB team group ddr5 (i think), for $50 more ($159.99 - posted in another SD). https://www.newegg.com/asus-b850-...6813119742
Haven't double checked, but probably a better board and with a white finish it has the looks some people feel the need for. At the very least it's the newer B850 chipset.
HEHE, just noticed the Gigabyte board is listed as coming with 8 x 2gb DDR5.

B850 is definitely a newer chipset, not sure what the major difference is (might have newer pcie)
In short,
B850 = B650E = B650 + PCIE x16 5.0 for the GPU slot.
The B850 he linked does also have (a single) PCIE 5 m.2 slot (not that it makes a huge difference for those) and comes with 3 m.2 slots total instead of 2
