According to RTings this one has a Noise Isolation rating of 9.0 (3rd place), the Ultra version from 2023 has a rating of 9.3 (second place). The latest release from about a month plus change ago, the Ultra Gen 2 also has a Noise Isolation rating of 9.3 (1st place).
You can see the rtings overview for Bose here: https://www.rtings.com/headphones...ble/180892
There are more detailed reviews of the headphones individually if you click on their links on that page
I own the QC, and QC Ultra. They sound and feel very similar to me with the Ultra being just a tiny bit better. Haven't had a chance with the Ultra Gen 2 though, but I'd expect it to be slighting better than the previous version.

They make the Ultra and now the Ultra 2 that sit higher than these. These are wonderful headphones thought.

the ultra/ultra 2 cancel noise slightly better

but to me, this feels better on my head, it can open up further than the ultra. the ultra feels a bit tight to me even fully extended

also this has buttons and the ultra has some touch controls and some other feature differences

these were comfortable to use for longer time compared to sony's and the noise cancellation is good. the only thing i don't like is the sound quality.

Indeed, I have been using QC since their first release almost 20 years ago. I cannot say how other brands do since QC has been good enough for weekly flight from CA to NY for almost 10 year so I have never given the other brands a try.

Good headset but ear cups tight on larger ears. Try in person before you buy.

...or "No highs? No lows? Must be Bose!". They said that stuff in the 80's but it's such a dumb thing to say today. They sound good and it's a great product.
