I own the QC, and QC Ultra. They sound and feel very similar to me with the Ultra being just a tiny bit better. Haven't had a chance with the Ultra Gen 2 though, but I'd expect it to be slighting better than the previous version.
Community Reviews
Bose QuietComfort wireless headphones stand out for comfort, strong noise cancellation, and a familiar button based design that feels better on the head than the Ultra line. The sound is described as good, and the QC and QC Ultra are said to feel very similar, with the Ultra only a little better. The main caveat is fit, since the ear cups can feel tight on larger ears. Color availability also looks limited in this sale, with black singled out at Sam's Club. A solid pick for long flights if comfort matters most.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. They're described as more comfortable than Sony XM4s for long flights and comfortable for longer listening sessions. The ear cups can feel tight on larger ears, so trying them on first can help if fit is a concern.
The QuietComfort model sits below the Ultra and Ultra 2, which have slightly better noise cancellation. The QC and QC Ultra sound and feel very similar, with the Ultra only a little better, while the QC can feel roomier on the head and uses physical buttons instead of touch controls.
Yes, the $169 price is considered good versus Sony XM4s, and the Bose are repeatedly described as more comfortable with strong noise cancellation. The main tradeoff mentioned is that the sound quality may be less appealing to some listeners.
Yes, the Sam's Club sale appears to be black-only. Other retailers, including Costco, were noted as offering the same deal in additional colors.
Bose.com reportedly offers the headphones with a hard case for $199, and the effective price can drop further with a 10% email signup discount, 10% cash back, or an Amex Bose offer. That can make it competitive if you want the case included.
