If anyone is wondering why: MC Phoenix is offering 20% off laptops and desktops in addition to the sale price at other MC stores. Valid during VIP days until the Grand Opening on 11/7(see attached pic).

Ex: 2,199.99(Current MC sale price) *.20 = 439.998
2,199.99 - 439.998 = $1759.99

Besides the grand opening, they've had nothing but trash deals and nothing good for Black Friday. I guess we're not going to see anything good from Micro Center this holiday. So far the best AMD gaming pre-built is from Walmart the 9800X3D 5070 TI 2TB 32GB for $1699.

I got in on the Walmart deal but the ram is CL48. Do you think that's a deal breaker?

For anyone in the area that doesn't follow gaming desktops too closely, this price is a no-brainer for a high end desktop that doesn't have a 5090 (those are typically $3500+).

If this config was available online for this price, they would sell many hundreds of them in a day or 2.

Yeah I just paid a little more 2 days ago for G758 same specs other than 5070 Ti. So yeah I saw this and immediately wanted an upgrade lol. In Houston though. Very nice price.

I purchased this as well, but returned it. Reviews are not very good, and there are many that state that the power supply and RAM should be replaced (which makes up for the difference in price). I really need a new PC for work (the one I'm using is 7 years old) and would like to be able to use it for gaming / PCVR if I have time. I'd rather spend a little more than wonder if I bought something less expensive at the cost of reliability.

RAM prices are eventually going to come back down, could be a year or more from now though. At that point replacing with lower CL RAM would ideally be reasonable. I priced out building the computer myself and it's several hundred more. So you're saving money regardless, even if you end up replacing the RAM in the future. I am looking to see if any better deals pop up during Black Friday but so far I'm feeling like it's unlikely. Costco and Sam's Club BF ads for PCs are a bust. Not really sure if we're going to see anything top the Walmart deal.

Edit: People were getting CL38 at one point. I'll probably inspect mine and see if it's CL48.

Second this. Thanksgiving for pointing that out. I knew they would cut corner to bring down price.
