They had the same deal during the prime day sale and I received an Apple Pencil second generation. So the non-pro version of the old pencil.

Amazon really makes zero effort to check Warehouse items, YMMV

Sorry folks I am new to this. Why buy an apple pencil. Are there specific cases where this is better? I understand maybe for sketching something, but any other?

People who wants a pencil have a need to for it. If you don't, you won't need it. My two daughters have separate need for it. One use it to write down note, etc. The other one use it to draw/sketch,

I would recommend buying new. These Apple Pencil battery are sealed and cannot be replaced. They become e-waste after battery goes dead. I had one go dead just from sitting around. I wish Apple would have made these with AAA batteries like the Microsoft Surface pen.

My order arrived today, but I am going to return it. It disconnects always after seconds. Otherwise the pencil looks real.
