Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is a compact LiFePO4 power station that fits camping, fridge backup, and light outage duty. It can run a refrigerator for hours, keep a heating pad going for multiple nights, and power USB C laptops more efficiently than using the AC adapter. The unit is very quiet on the low setting and works well for bedroom use or as a short UPS bridge. Main limits are the tight DC8020 solar ports, modest solar input of up to 400W, and runtime that drops fast on high draw loads like heaters or gaming laptops.

Common Questions (6)

  • Runtime depends on the laptop's draw and conversion losses. A gaming laptop around 240W is roughly 4 hours in practice, and a heavier gaming load may land around 3-6 hours; using USB-C charging instead of the AC brick is more efficient.

  • It can work for short outages, but it is not a true 0 ms UPS. The switchover is about 20 ms, and UPS pass-through mode can keep the battery at 100% or cycle it between 80-85%, which can shorten battery and inverter life.

  • It supports up to 400W of solar charging through two DC8020 inputs, with 200W per input. The solar ports are reported to be very tight, so disconnecting panels can feel awkward.

  • A basic fridge drawing about 75-100W can run around 10-12 hours. A refrigerator has also been run for several hours in real use, so actual time depends on compressor cycling and the fridge's wattage.

  • It can run a 1500W heater for about half an hour at roughly 80% efficiency, and a 1350W electric skillet is estimated at about 50 minutes before real-world losses. It is better suited to short bursts than long high-wattage cooking.

  • On the quiet setting it is reported to be inaudible, and slow-charge mode is described as dead quiet. That makes it suitable for bedrooms or overnight use where fan noise matters.

It's been here before, but I don't believe lower. I bought one for roughly this price a year ago and am strongly considering a second. I actually would kind of like to try a comparable model from a different brand but haven't seen one hit 350.
I'm actually interested in a 2 or 3 KW model as well but Everytime a deal comes up on one of those I do the math and 2x $350 or 3x $350 is always cheaper than the sale price on the bigger unit, making it very hard to justify considering I have no real need for a higher max wattage. More smaller units= more flexibility and a lot more portability.

Is this what I want in my basement when the power goes out for 12-24 hours and I need to power my electric induction cooktop or charge phones?

Is this Jackery, or the EcoFlow Delta 2 better? I saw the Delta 2 was 330$ on prime day.

Looks like the warranty is 1 year asking Rufus on Amazon? Anyone seeing anything different? The Costco version with 100w solar panel is $650 with a 3+2 warranty. Is this still the better deal?

How long can this power a gaming laptop?
The capacity is 1070wh so if your laptop consumes 240 watts per hour then running time will be a bit less than 1070/240.

Depends on the power draw of the laptop. Figure you're only going to get 80% efficiency converting from DC power to AC power and back to DC power for the laptop power brick. At that point, it's 800 W divided by the power draw of the gaming laptop (per hour). I'd estimate 3-6 hours, depending on power draw.
Modern gaming laptops use usb-c for charging so there is no need to convert dc to ac. Simply use a usb c cable rated for 100 watts or higher. They are really cheap.

Personally I won't buy this unit because it uses the barrel type of connector for solar charging whereas most manufacturers adopted the XT60 or XT90 connector. You can also buy the Segway Cube 1000 for the same price but the Segway can be expanded by adding battery packs. Nevertheless I won't buy the Segway either because they just entered the power station business and you want to buy from the best.
I would rather buy the Pecron E1000LFP for the same price but the Pecron has the XT60 connector if you plan on using solar panels. The Pecron also has 5 power outlets.

I could be wrong but I think the laptop will run at a slower speed when not using the power brick. I can't have any of that 🤣

It depends on how much energy the laptop uses. I've used one to run a refrigerator for several hours.
Can it run Crysis?

240 Watts ?
If your laptop uses 240 watts an hour and the Jackery has a capacity of 1070 watts, how long do you think it will last? It's pretty simple math.

It is non-returnable to Amazon. But Jackery will accept a return if it is defective. Their customer support is decent, not great. It is only decent because their support doesnt know much about the products they support.

You're never going to get 100% efficiency so you're wrong.
