Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is a compact LiFePO4 power station that fits camping, fridge backup, and light outage duty. It can run a refrigerator for hours, keep a heating pad going for multiple nights, and power USB C laptops more efficiently than using the AC adapter. The unit is very quiet on the low setting and works well for bedroom use or as a short UPS bridge. Main limits are the tight DC8020 solar ports, modest solar input of up to 400W, and runtime that drops fast on high draw loads like heaters or gaming laptops.

Common Questions (6)

  • Runtime depends on the laptop's draw and conversion losses. A gaming laptop around 240W is roughly 4 hours in practice, and a heavier gaming load may land around 3-6 hours; using USB-C charging instead of the AC brick is more efficient.

  • It can work for short outages, but it is not a true 0 ms UPS. The switchover is about 20 ms, and UPS pass-through mode can keep the battery at 100% or cycle it between 80-85%, which can shorten battery and inverter life.

  • It supports up to 400W of solar charging through two DC8020 inputs, with 200W per input. The solar ports are reported to be very tight, so disconnecting panels can feel awkward.

  • A basic fridge drawing about 75-100W can run around 10-12 hours. A refrigerator has also been run for several hours in real use, so actual time depends on compressor cycling and the fridge's wattage.

  • It can run a 1500W heater for about half an hour at roughly 80% efficiency, and a 1350W electric skillet is estimated at about 50 minutes before real-world losses. It is better suited to short bursts than long high-wattage cooking.

  • On the quiet setting it is reported to be inaudible, and slow-charge mode is described as dead quiet. That makes it suitable for bedrooms or overnight use where fan noise matters.

It's been here before, but I don't believe lower. I bought one for roughly this price a year ago and am strongly considering a second. I actually would kind of like to try a comparable model from a different brand but haven't seen one hit 350.
I'm actually interested in a 2 or 3 KW model as well but Everytime a deal comes up on one of those I do the math and 2x $350 or 3x $350 is always cheaper than the sale price on the bigger unit, making it very hard to justify considering I have no real need for a higher max wattage. More smaller units= more flexibility and a lot more portability.
It was $332 a few weeks ago during Amazon big deal days sale. It was $349 plus a 5% code bringing it down to $332.

How long can it run a 1500 watt heater? The calculation is (1,070Wh x 80% efficiency) / 1,500watts = approximately 1/2 hour

Also for a brief time you could also get the 100w solar panel. Now they are only offering the 40w one

FYI, you will loose $52 saving if you add the 40W solar panel. For me I rather take the $52 saving.

Some economists expect price increases to hit hard in January 2026--residual effects from tariffs, trade war, currency devaluation, etc. Might be safer to buy now.

I'm looking for a power station for my storage unit. I would be running a laptop and label maker and maybe an over head light for a couple of hours tops. Would this work or would I need something more powerful?

Personally I won't buy this unit because it uses the barrel type of connector for solar charging whereas most manufacturers adopted the XT60 or XT90 connector. You can also buy the Segway Cube 1000 for the same price but the Segway can be expanded by adding battery packs. Nevertheless I won't buy the Segway either because they just entered the power station business and you want to buy from the best.I would rather buy the Pecron E1000LFP for the same price but the Pecron has the XT60 connector if you plan on using solar panels. The Pecron also has 5 power outlets.
That segway unit is on sale and it seem to have a higher wattage value https://a.co/d/6PvV2Jn

Can it run Crysis?
If you are trying to run Crysis the laptop battery will be lucky to last 20 minutes.
