Sony's WH 1000XM6 refurb deal stands out for top tier noise canceling, strong call performance, and travel friendly battery life, with the package including the magnetic carrying case, headphone cable, and USB charging cable. The eBay listing adds a two year warranty, and the headphones have arrived looking brand new in plain packaging with original cables and no visible wear. A coupon can drop the price to $279.99 with Klarna, or $289.99 with a PayPal offer. The main caution is the reported XM6 hinge issue, which may not be covered if treated as customer damage rather than a defect.
Frequent flyers wanting over-ear ANC, because the battery lasts through long travel days and the headphones can plug into in-flight systems.
Shoppers who need hinge hardware they can forget about, because the XM6 can develop loose hinge hardware that may need tightening and may not be covered as a defect.
People expecting the strongest possible ANC in every noise, because the XM6 can lose to AirPods Pro 3 on some sounds even while beating them on others.
Yes. The eBay refurb includes a 2-year warranty, plus the magnetic carrying case, headphone cable, and USB charging cable. The headphones can arrive in a plain box rather than retail packaging, but the case and cables are included.
The listed $299.99 price can drop to $279.99 with the Klarna-linked eBay coupon, and a separate PayPal coupon can bring it to $289.99 for eligible users. The Klarna offer expires 11/09, while the PayPal offer expires 11/22.
The XM6 has reported hinge problems, but the issue is described as loose hardware rather than a broken plastic hinge. The 2-year warranty is helpful, though hinge damage may be treated as abuse or customer damage instead of a manufacturer defect.
The XM6 and AirPods Pro 3 trade blows depending on the noise source. The Pro 3 were slightly better against a bathroom fan, while the XM6 were clearly better against shower noise, and the XM6 also add over-ear comfort, longer battery life, and a larger soundstage.
Yes. One reported unit arrived carefully packed with the official Sony magnetic case, both original cables, and no marks, fingerprints, or stray hairs. The headphones were on firmware 2.0.2 and updated successfully to 3.0.0 through the Sony app.
I guess SecondPity has listed them for $285 previously, but still a decent deal at $300
Yes, they had them listed previously for $285 directly on the Secondipity website, but only a 90 day warranty.
Through Secondipity via eBay it also includes a two-year warranty. This is the lowest it has been through their eBay storefront since I have been keeping an eye on it the last few months.
Typically about $379 on their eBay page, but did drop to $327 for a short time recently as well.
I ordered the $299.99 deal this morning and within 2 hours already had UPS tracking for delivery on Saturday 11/8.
The insurance eBay uses is one of the best I have ever dealt with
Is this allstate who used to be squaretrade?
If so, can I ask when was the last time you used them? Squaretrade used to awesome. Based on friends' very positive experiences I got it for a laptop and also had a great experience but that was years ago.
About two years ago I bought a refurb laptop via ebay that I wouldn't have spent that much on without the confidence I had in that service. A month in, the fan stsrted grinding and their support tried to get me to throttle the cpu to fix the noise. I declined and said I'd rather actually fix the fan. When I got it back it was filthy and had fingerprints all over it, and now the top shell was coming apart from the display. I sent it back again, got it back, and the mic was broken. A few months later the shell was coming apart again.

Helpful then that they come with the 2-year warranty!I had not seen the reports on the XM6, only the previous issue with the XM5.I just read this article from last week on the XM6 hinge as well: https://www.soundguys.com/sony-wh...re-146824/
Yep. Warranty is good. Seems both the 5 and 6 have the issue after a few months.
However, warranty might not cover the hinges. They could consider that abuse or customer damaged, not a manufacturer issue.
