Donut County is a fun one. My son really enjoyed it and I liked it too.

Are any of these good for a 5 year old who just started playing video games? And any coop so I can play with him?

It's not on the list but I started this with my son when he was about 5, he still plays it occasionally at 10. Coop is fun.

From all the bad reviews of Tales of the Shire, I'm surprised they're still discounting it so little.

Its Not on this list but I did get it really cheap when it was on sale, Boomerang fu. You don't need the DLCs now. https://www.nintendo.com/us/store...sCfVcFoofE

If you want a modern take on classic 16-bit JRPGs, I can't recommend Octopath Traveller 2 enough.

The story however is a bit mature for kids at some points.

Cat Quest is a good one. Most of the Lego series is good as well. Have fun! Oh, also I second Donut Country.

So there is a remastered Chrono Cross for the Switch but no Chrono Trigger? That's what I'm holding out for.

Any of these games good for a 6-7yr old? I just finished cat quest 1-3 with my kid and we're looking to play some more games. 2 player games that are good are really hard to find.

Pepper Grinder is good game. There is a free demo on the e-shop.
Edit: it's not a 2-player game though

I came here to say the same game. Excellent game to just learn how to use a controller and run around. Great co-op too. And it goes on sale all the time.
