Costco has the worst ecommerce site, so this product page is wrong price, wrong RAM, wrong SKU
You want Item #1773500
Is there a Costco code to items priced with .97 cents?
Discontinued?
Deleted?
YMMV
Good hunting.

Meta Quest 3S is landing at a sharp warehouse markdown, with local Costco pricing around $199 to $249 and the deal appearing store specific in the app. The headset is praised as a strong entry point for VR, especially for Beat Saber, Superhot, Job Simulator, and other casual games, and the lenses and field of view are a big step up from older headsets. Costco rewards, a 90 day return policy, and a free 12 month subscription add value. The main caveats are that pricing and stock vary by location, the app may show a different online price, and the listing may actually be the 128GB model.
Common Questions (4)
Yes. The .97 price is a store-only markdown, and the item lookup may not match online. Warehouse pricing can vary, so checking the Costco app for your local store is the practical way to confirm stock and price.
Open the Costco app and tap the Warehouse button at the bottom to view local inventory and warehouse pricing. The app can show a different warehouse price than the online listing, such as $249 in Everett, MA while the online price shows $299.
A purchase at this price can include a free 12-month subscription, and some setups may also qualify for a $30 activation credit. The subscription games are only playable while the subscription stays active.
The thread indicates the warehouse deal is for the 128GB model, not 256GB. A comparable Target price is $249, but Target includes a $50 gift card, which makes it closer in effective cost for non-Costco members.

Prices ending in .97 is a special markdown at the store only. Not sure why your store is clearing out that item before the holiday rush.
If you post your store's location, locals might be able to replicate the deal if it's still in stock.
For instance in MA in the Boston area, only Everett has it, for $249.

Where is your local Costco that has the 256GB for $199?

I'm in the app, it shows $299 online price, and it says my store name and:
In Stock Buy in Warehouse
Warehouse pricing may vary
This would be an absolutely fantastic device if the OS was more open to customization and especially to debloating. As is, it's a Meta marketing tool and ought to be sold as a loss leader, the same way Amazon sells their Kindle and Fire devices dirt cheap intending to make up the loss on Prime memberships.
If stores are discounting these, I'm guessing it has something to do with this - https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/29/m...arter.html
That being said, IMHO one of the coolest things about these is that you can use them as a cheap 3D video camera [youtube.com].
