Costco has the worst ecommerce site, so this product page is wrong price, wrong RAM, wrong SKU
You want Item #1773500
Is there a Costco code to items priced with .97 cents?
Discontinued?
Deleted?
YMMV
Good hunting.

Meta Quest 3S is landing at a sharp warehouse markdown, with local Costco pricing around $199 to $249 and the deal appearing store specific in the app. The headset is praised as a strong entry point for VR, especially for Beat Saber, Superhot, Job Simulator, and other casual games, and the lenses and field of view are a big step up from older headsets. Costco rewards, a 90 day return policy, and a free 12 month subscription add value. The main caveats are that pricing and stock vary by location, the app may show a different online price, and the listing may actually be the 128GB model.
The Costco app can help verify warehouse inventory and warehouse pricing for your specific location.
The deal price can be location-specific, so checking your store's inventory may reveal the same markdown.
The $200 purchase experience can include a free 12-month subscription offer.
A $199 purchase can be paired with Costco rewards and a 90-day return window for added value.
The online price shown in the Costco app can differ from warehouse pricing, so the $199.97 figure may not apply everywhere.
The $199.97 markdown may be store-only and the item number may not match during lookup.
Some VR features can require a monthly $19.99 subscription, which can add ongoing cost.
The deal may be for the 128GB version rather than the 256GB model, which changes storage expectations.

Prices ending in .97 is a special markdown at the store only. Not sure why your store is clearing out that item before the holiday rush.
If you post your store's location, locals might be able to replicate the deal if it's still in stock.
For instance in MA in the Boston area, only Everett has it, for $249.

Where is your local Costco that has the 256GB for $199?

I'm in the app, it shows $299 online price, and it says my store name and:
In Stock Buy in Warehouse
Warehouse pricing may vary
This would be an absolutely fantastic device if the OS was more open to customization and especially to debloating. As is, it's a Meta marketing tool and ought to be sold as a loss leader, the same way Amazon sells their Kindle and Fire devices dirt cheap intending to make up the loss on Prime memberships.
If stores are discounting these, I'm guessing it has something to do with this - https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/29/m...arter.html
That being said, IMHO one of the coolest things about these is that you can use them as a cheap 3D video camera [youtube.com].
