Hisense has acquired Toshiba TV in 2017. So this is essentially made by Hisense

I purchased this tv in July. Picture quality and presentation are great. It's a bit heavier than expected. The volume tv is not that great so plan on getting a good soundbar. Ive only had Samsung up until now and this TV has been comparable

This 85 inch Toshiba C350 stands out for sheer screen size and solid picture quality, with one comparison calling it comparable to a prior Samsung. The panel is described as heavier than expected, and the built in speakers are weak enough that a soundbar is recommended. The Fire TV setup may also be annoying if it still needs the Fire TV remote to clear remote not detected messages. At this price, the main appeal is getting a huge screen for the money.

Showing as $599.99 now for new.

Might be able to get an Open Box (fair) for $533.99, Open Box (good) for $551.99, or Open Box (excellent) for $569.99.

Have they fixed the issue on the Toshiba Fire TVs to where you must use the Fire TV remote? I have one from a couple years back and I programmed a universal remote to control everything. If I turn on the TV, it complains it hasn't detected the remote. I have to hit something on the Fire TV remote or it'll keep that notice on. I last read the same issue with 2024 models, but maybe that's changed. If not... beware as it could be a major annoyance depending on how you plan your setup.

599$ is a great price just to have "size" for a TV. If my house wasn't about to go on the market, I'd probably switch my 70" out with this because it's in an area that people can even watch from the French doors outside 30+ feet away.

Wi-Fi 5 + Bluetooth 5.0? Seems like Hisense will ship left over parts under Toshiba.

I think the panel size alone is worth that price. I would only need a working HDMI port to connect a third party box like a Walmart On TV.

How are you going to utilize the alexa voice commands with a generic universal remote?

Thanks for the info. I've posted about my Toshiba experience (49" lasted only 18 months) but that was in 2016 and likely not relevant.

I bought the 42" version of this earlier in the year for $120 (too good of a deal to pass up) and the screen has had really weird issue where it shows waves when viewed from an angle. It's too cheap to return and other than the screen issue, everything else has been fine.
