The problem is intel arc. The support in the future won't be very good now that they got the nvidia deal.

They're downsizing the arc team. Everything else about this thing as is, TODAY, it's a great deal.

If you think 1tb storage, a "new" box, along marginally faster cpu is worth 38%($270) more then yes. I personally am fine with refurbished and would save/invest that extra money for my next laptop in the future.

Am tempted, mostly for the 32GB which is rare in this price range. But I don't want to drive an hour to go pick this up. The store near me only has an open-box unit, which suggests that it is a refurb that has been returned.

This is obviously not the case. You really think Intel will pay for an Nvidia GPU die for every future mobile SOC? It is very probable that the majority of Intel units will continue to use Arc.

Intel has had layoffs in general this year but no evidence of any Arc specific downsizing.
