For anyone that had zero clue what this was for like me, it's a portable safe for a handgun basically.

WARNING this is from Costco Next.. Which is essentially just a third party pass through. Items from Next do not qualify for Costco's return/warranty coverage.

Flipside is I did have a problem with my Vaultek 10 and Vaultek replaced it without too much of a hassle but not as convenient as Costco for obvious reasons. (My safe stopped opening / charging)

These are great to keep your CCW locked up in your car when you can't carry. Thread the cable through your seat frame and shove the safe under your seat or in your trunk if you have one.

Thank you OP, I recall when the original was this price and this 1 is bigger so a solid buy if one is in the market.

Good deal but note this one doesn't include a finger print (biometric) scanner.

That would depend on your local laws. There are states where you are not permitted to leave the firearm in your vehicle.

California, unless it's locked/secured to a compartment that's attached to the vehicle.
The vaultek counts as a locked container. And yes only CCW holders can store in their car

What's better about this than a stopbox?

Good deal. I don't know if I'll use the bag, but it's perfect for securing a CCW. The 1.0 is fine, but the extra space with this one will allow me to throw a few more things in if necessary.

132.59 shipped.

I have a stopbox and hate it. I had an 'incident' in the middle of the night a few months back and I can tell you that trying to fidget to get my fingers in the right place with the adrenaline going while simultaneously waking up from a dead sleep is NOT what I would have wanted to do. Would never use this for HD.

For storage and popping in and out of the car, yea just about any lock box will do; even a combo one.

Is this good for storing precious metals or jewelry?
