Walmart+ at $49 is mainly valued for free shipping and delivery, plus the included streaming choice of Paramount+ or Peacock and extras like Burger King discounts and gas savings. The membership can also be useful for same day grocery orders, InHome delivery, and occasional Walmart Cash or Amex stacking that can cut the effective cost further. The main cautions are that renewal and retention offers are inconsistent, some deals require canceling first or using the website, and delivery or refund experiences can be messy. A strong value if the included perks match how you shop and stream.

  • Returning Walmart+ members who let their membership expire and then rejoin when the offer pops up because multiple commenters said the $49/50% offer appeared after their membership ended (sometimes proactively in the app) and they were able to renew at the discounted rate.

  • People who use Walmart same-day delivery or small-item orders because commenters said same-day shipping can have no order minimum (e.g., a $5 item stays $5) and that they can even buy very small items and still get free shipping.

  • Walmart+ shoppers who already use Paramount+ or Peacock (and want to keep one of them) because the $49 annual price is described as paying for itself since Walmart+ includes Paramount or Peacock and you can switch which one is included every 90 days.

  • People who want to avoid the streaming-service shuffle and would rather get streaming bundled with a membership because one commenter said they're "over it" with switching services and prefer buying movies/series, while others value the included Paramount+/Peacock benefit as part of the Walmart+ package.

  • Shoppers who can time renewal and/or use Walmart cash or Amex offers to make the net cost very low because commenters described stacking a $50 Walmart Cash retention offer with an Amex "Spend $98, Get $49" offer to make the membership essentially free or near-net-positive.

  • UFC fans who want Paramount+ included because commenters noted UFC streaming moves to Paramount+ in 2026 with no additional fees, making the bundled Paramount+ benefit more compelling.

  • Families who shop at Walmart regularly and want faster delivery than Amazon Prime because one commenter said their orders are often faster than Amazon Prime and that Walmart+ is "a great deal for families who shop at Walmart."

  • People who also care about Burger King perks because commenters clarified there's a 25% off Burger King daily benefit (once daily through the app) plus a free Whopper quarterly with purchase.

  • People who want a guaranteed smooth renewal/discount experience because multiple commenters reported renewal confusion or mismatched charges (e.g., account showing $49 but being charged $98, or promo/eligibility not applying as expected) and needing chat/cancellations/refunds to fix it.

  • Shoppers who typically spend only $1-$4 in the Walmart app deals because the Burger King 25% benefit requires a minimum $5 purchase and can't be combined with special app deals, so the BK discount "is not a deal" for them.

  • People who are sensitive to ad-supported streaming because commenters said the included Paramount+/Peacock benefit is the ad-supported tier and they weren't able to pay to remove ads (or weren't sure), making it unattractive for them.

  • Shoppers who rely on grocery delivery selection and price parity with Amazon because one commenter said in their area Walmart had more out-of-stock items and higher prices than Amazon for grocery deliveries.

  • People who need the half-off promo without fully being off Walmart+ because one commenter said they had to be fully off Walmart+ (not just scheduled cancellation) to get the 1/2-off offer.

  • Shoppers who want to use the Burger King discount as their main reason to buy because commenters warned the 25% BK discount can't be used with other app offers and may not apply to many menu items under "digital exclusives" or "limited time only."

  • People who are uncomfortable with "pop-up"/dark-pattern style sign-up flows because one commenter said they're tired of dark patterns and pop-up subscribe flows and wouldn't reward Walmart's behavior even though they wanted Walmart+.

  • Current Walmart+ members hoping the $49 deal will apply automatically without changing anything because at least one commenter said the deal button redirected to their account and they couldn't use the discounted offer while still having an active membership.

When I would check my account, it would show: "Walmart+ Plan - Annual $49.00(special offer)"
But when I clicked to renew, it wanted to charge me $98. Evidently, the $49 was just to show what I was charged last time. They said there was a special deal going, but it had expired.
It was the same for me. I cancelled my membership just before it expired last week. I was able to see the $49 offer on my account today.

I cancelled W+ about 20 days ago hoping to get a renewal offer. They did not give me one when I canceled but today I saw this offer pop up on my FB account.

I assume it's targeted but hopefully works for some others Smilie

I canceled then re-join link popped up for 49 plus tax. I went for it. I do like the occasional BK and Paramount+ from this.

Do you get $5 off each week with the regular W+ membership? Walmart gave me a free W+ membership for a couple of months that came with $5 off each week. That discount alone would more than offset the membership cost as I shop there almost every week.

I am a current monthly subscriber and was able to upgrade at the 50% off. I did notice I could not do it through the App but only through the website.

I just canceled my half price membership from this time last year, which was due to renew tomorrow. Will I be able to buy it half price under this deal again once my current subscription period is over? Since I'll no longer be an "existing" member?

Assuming everyone else will experience the same that I did...cancel your membership through the app. Membership will remain active through the period you paid for. I canceled a few days before I was set to auto-renew but presumably it would have worked if I did it months ago too.

Can I wait till Dec 1st to claim this or is there a track record of offers ending sooner than published/marketed for Walmart?

Sorry you got so butthurt over your inability to comprehend basic numbers. But really, I'm not sorry. Have the day you deserve.
No need to project on me, pumpkin. How about you interact with your daughter instead of bragging about your "high level" math skills on here.

Check your account. I canceled less than two weeks ago, and got the deal, today.

Walmart delivery uses a separate delivery service called spark. Which they also own. Which makes it easy for them to use "immigrant" labor and greatly reduce the wages of the drivers. There is no hourly rate. You get paid per delivery bid.
I believe it is a mix depending on location of store. In either case, a corporation pays the employee a hourly wage and then per delivery. If they are willing to get paid based only per delivery, that is their problem. It is not our responsibility to pay their wage. No need to tip.
