Walmart+ at $49 is mainly valued for free shipping and delivery, plus the included streaming choice of Paramount+ or Peacock and extras like Burger King discounts and gas savings. The membership can also be useful for same day grocery orders, InHome delivery, and occasional Walmart Cash or Amex stacking that can cut the effective cost further. The main cautions are that renewal and retention offers are inconsistent, some deals require canceling first or using the website, and delivery or refund experiences can be messy. A strong value if the included perks match how you shop and stream.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes, many returning members can get it after canceling or letting the membership expire, and some current monthly subscribers can upgrade through the website. The offer often appears in Account or Manage Membership, sometimes only after canceling or after the plan fully ends.

  • The membership can include 25% off Burger King once daily through the app, a free Whopper quarterly with purchase, fuel discounts, free shipping on very small items, and faster local delivery. Some members also value InHome delivery for no-tip drop-off and the ability to save on gas or weekly shopping.

  • Canceling through the website or app can trigger a 50% off or $49 retention offer, sometimes immediately before final confirmation and sometimes days or weeks later. Several accounts only saw it after the membership fully expired or after reopening the account page.

  • Yes. Walmart+ includes one ad-supported streaming choice, either Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium, and you can switch between them every 90 days. The included plans are the ad-supported tiers, so upgrading to ad-free requires paying extra.

  • The membership itself is charged tax, but same-day shipping can be used without an order minimum and without a tip prompt. Grocery delivery is different: it can have a minimum order and a delivery fee, with tipping handled in the app or website.

When I would check my account, it would show: "Walmart+ Plan - Annual $49.00(special offer)"
But when I clicked to renew, it wanted to charge me $98. Evidently, the $49 was just to show what I was charged last time. They said there was a special deal going, but it had expired.
It was the same for me. I cancelled my membership just before it expired last week. I was able to see the $49 offer on my account today.

I cancelled W+ about 20 days ago hoping to get a renewal offer. They did not give me one when I canceled but today I saw this offer pop up on my FB account.

I assume it's targeted but hopefully works for some others Smilie

I canceled then re-join link popped up for 49 plus tax. I went for it. I do like the occasional BK and Paramount+ from this.

Do you get $5 off each week with the regular W+ membership? Walmart gave me a free W+ membership for a couple of months that came with $5 off each week. That discount alone would more than offset the membership cost as I shop there almost every week.

I am a current monthly subscriber and was able to upgrade at the 50% off. I did notice I could not do it through the App but only through the website.

I just canceled my half price membership from this time last year, which was due to renew tomorrow. Will I be able to buy it half price under this deal again once my current subscription period is over? Since I'll no longer be an "existing" member?

Assuming everyone else will experience the same that I did...cancel your membership through the app. Membership will remain active through the period you paid for. I canceled a few days before I was set to auto-renew but presumably it would have worked if I did it months ago too.

Can I wait till Dec 1st to claim this or is there a track record of offers ending sooner than published/marketed for Walmart?

Sorry you got so butthurt over your inability to comprehend basic numbers. But really, I'm not sorry. Have the day you deserve.
No need to project on me, pumpkin. How about you interact with your daughter instead of bragging about your "high level" math skills on here.

Check your account. I canceled less than two weeks ago, and got the deal, today.

Walmart delivery uses a separate delivery service called spark. Which they also own. Which makes it easy for them to use "immigrant" labor and greatly reduce the wages of the drivers. There is no hourly rate. You get paid per delivery bid.
I believe it is a mix depending on location of store. In either case, a corporation pays the employee a hourly wage and then per delivery. If they are willing to get paid based only per delivery, that is their problem. It is not our responsibility to pay their wage. No need to tip.
