Still overpriced and out of warranty. Get a clamp meter and wire strippers. That's all you need.

With due respect, how would you know what anyone else needs? There are a million different situations that require different tools. I happen to have conventional multimeters and clamp meters for different jobs.

Works fine but not a great meter for the cost. If you need value a klein will serve equally as well and have more features. The magnet attachment is cheap and broke quickly at the swivel on mine and the backlight has had issues.

Agreed. People always say to get a clamp meter instead. I work with small electronics, I have no use for a clamp meter. That said, for this price, just get a Fluke multimeter while they are on sale. Or as the other person said, on a budget, get a Klein multimeter.

Well, at this pace, skip the wire strippers and just use your dad's rusty side-cuts, in fact you don't even a meter then just use a lightbulb and 2 wires to see if the "power" is on

I have a couple of old Fluke 27s that I've been using for decades. The most bulletproof meter I've ever seen. They've survived many drops and just keep plugging along. No repairs, no calibrations, nothing. Have worn out many sets of test leads with them. Batteries last forever. Long ago discontinued but you still see them on eBay. Back in the day they were standard issue for the U.S. military, which should tell you something about their toughness and reliability.

Several years ago I bought an Extech clamp meter on a deal for higher amp measurements and it has served me well. Not as bulletproof as the Flukes mentioned above but still a solid piece of test equipment. It's handy for HVAC and automotive work.

Price dropped this morning from $106 to $98; I've updated the listing to reflect the lower price. Additionally, eBay is now showing a $5 discount available when using Venmo. Might be targeted so YMMV.

Update: Price just dropped to $96.
