I've never found steam cleaning magical for either. If you're stovetop is a wreck like mine is, steam will soften whatever is baked on but there is still some elbow grease required to work it off. Worked better on grout (assuming it is sealed) but I found myself running out of water and steam pretty quickly so the process can be slow if you have any quantity of area you want to work on

Never tried one before but this does seem like a slick deal. price tracking shows normally $47.49 for the last 120 days or so, then it dropped to $44.99 and has this code to make it $20. not bad!

You need a good brush. I use a beefy brush (not the ones included in these types of kits) and it works spectacularly for super baked-on stuff.
