Samsung's Galaxy Tab A9 Plus is a solid 11 inch tablet for streaming, web browsing, YouTube, Roblox, and kid use. The screen is described as decent for the price, and Samsung Kids Mode with password protected app control makes it appealing for families. Bloatware can usually be removed or disabled, especially after cleanup or debloating. The main drawback is the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration, which can lag, struggle with app switching, and feel too limited for games or heavier use. Charging port reliability and slow charging are also recurring concerns, making it a better fit for basic tasks than demanding ones.

  • The tablet can work well for basic entertainment like YouTube and Roblox.

  • The tablet can be usable for streaming, web surfing, and email reading tasks.

  • The tablet can run smoothly after disabling RAM Plus features.

  • The tablet can be set up with Samsung Kids Mode for password-protected app access.

  • The 4GB RAM configuration can cause noticeable lag when switching apps or swiping notifications.

  • The tablet can suffer from heavy bloatware that may require debloating steps to manage.

  • Charging port failures can occur, with reports of shot USB-C ports on multiple units.

  • After Android 15 updates, the tablet can lock, freeze, and lag heavily during normal use.

This is a 2022 model and will be out of updates in a year or so. It charges very slowly, and you need to plug it in for several hours to charge it. Newer model will charge faster. Its replacement has been announced and will be in stores soon, it is called A11+
Here are links about it:
https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_...-14192.php
https://samsung.gadgethacks.com/n...-upgrades/

I wouldn't pay more than $120 for it now. Being a very slow to charge unit, you need to plug it in and forget about it. Then you will see that it has charged. It is like waiting for the paint to dry in the can before you discard the can.

If you want some advice... don't. Those cheap Chinese tablet sacrifice on something you don't realize. Build Quality. I've purchased many of them recently. Alldocube. the UMIDIGI linked, LincPlus, Hauwei, and many others. Guess what happens to all of them? The solder for the usb-c charging port always breaks loose and then you cannot charge the darn things. Don't take much effort either. The other thing that happens is that they use very thin metal for the bodies. Too thin. You won't realize it until it happens but the bodies will bend at the volume buttons where the body is even thinner to make room for those buttons. It because a massive weak point to the whole tablet causing them to go concave without realizing it.

Performance and battery life are actually fine on those Cheap Chinese tablets, but the build quality just sucks. I just don't know what to try anymore as they all fail after a few months.
I'm calling you out... COMPLETELY. So so so NOT TRUE.

I would like the specific models and what went wrong for each of your tablets... I just don't believe you at ALL.

SO... Tablets are typically made with aluminum bodies and NEVER STEEL. Please let me know of one tablet that has a steel body.

Hauwai is equal to Apple regarding QUALITY... but you have them on the your list as being bad when in fact THEY ARE THE BEST!

If your tablet BENDS... I think the user is at fault (SHAKING MY HEAD at anyone that would blaime the tablet) ...

Again, I would like to know the make and MODEL of each tablet that you broke. Cause ALL OF MINE STILL WORK...

WOW... where do I start..... I guess with my

Hauwai M3 or my Hauwai M5 or my Alldocube Iplay60 mini OR MY Alldocube Iplay60 mini turbo or my Lincplus T3... and I haved a few that are like 10+ years old, I even have one that is about 15 years old.... AND THEY ALL WORK. Many of them have cracked screens... BUT STILL WORKING and any cracked screens were MY FAULT. I will also say I usually by a drop proof cases and I feel the build quality on these tablets are AMAZING and every one of my tablets have taken a fall and lived.

And my M3 and M5 still work AMAZING... but I have not used for many years. But those screens were the best when those tablets came out and still look Amazing.

MY 3 devices that failed where you plug it in....
My Dell laptop (3rd gen intel), I needed to buy 3 different power cables over it's life (still using) and I will blame Dell... and My Pixel 8 Pro I have a diffuclty with my USB C connection but I think it is due to my drop proof case and the aftermarket cables that I use, my issues was that I need to hard wire it when I was in the car for Android Auto, but I just purchased a dongle for wireless android auto... again, I am not blaming google. AND I had to send my Tab S8+ to Samsung cause it only charged at 10watts no matter what... they ended up giving me a refurbished tablet with double the harddrive space (THREE MONTHS LATER!!!!) and I sold that one and purchased my Tab S9. I could write a few paragraphs about how bad the Samsung customer service was, everything was an argument with Samsung... they actually wanted to give me a $700 credit when the tablet at their website cost $900... after 4 weeks of saying NO, they finally admitted that they only have refurbished double the hard drive space tablets to send to customers at that moment in time and they finally gave me one after TWO MONTHS OF COMPLAINING (this is your beautiful Samsung company for you). Ended up giving my Tab S9 to my kid and I purchased the ZTE Redmagic Astro Gaming Tablet which I think is the best tablet in the world when it came out (two months ago)... since then Hauwai may have a better one.

I only go by specs....

Just realize that 16GB or RAM is not true... they include "virtual RAM"... it is usually 6GB or 8GB.

Let me look at tablets....

Just think like this... all G99 tablets are the same speed. So now look at RAM and don't get fooled on Virtual RAM, I have many times. You need to see it it states in the pictures regarding RAM... for example it it says this (4 + 8), to me it means the tablet has 4GB of real RAM. And you only want to use REAL RAM because your hard drive is SO MUCH SLOWER and using virtual RAM will most likely slow you down.

To me the issue is not finding a tablet but finding a drop proof case. You can give your dimensions of the tablet to ChatGPT and Gemini etc... and ask what other tablet has the identical dimensions. Just realize that AI is not always right so verify...

This is what google says...

What Google says.....There is no specific evidence that all Chinese tablets using the G99 processor have spyware, but there is a significant risk of pre-installed malware and backdoors on many generic, non-branded Android devices from certain Chinese manufacturers. This risk is not tied to the G99 processor itself, but rather to the manufacturers and their supply chains.
What is funny to me is that there IS NO EVIDENCE... not one mention.

Again from Google... There is no single specific G99 tablet model that has been universally identified as containing pre-installed spyware from the manufacturer in the same way as some isolated cases with non-brand, low-cost tablets in the past (such as some from 2015 that used Allwinner chips).

POINT IS... NOT ONE SINGLE MODEL IDENTIFIED WITH SPYWARE that uses a G99 CPU.

LAST THING...
I chose a G99 cause it is equal to the SD695 in power AND that is the slowest CPU I would recommend.

OK... SOMETHING TO CONSIDER.... Many of these tablets may not have Widevine Level 1 support. If you want to stream from PAID services and you want to stream in HD... you need widevine level 1 support. The good news is that for every paid streaming site like Netflix or Disney, there is about a hundred unethical streaming sites that don't care about widevine Level 1 support. Before you try any of these sites... the first thing you need to do is install FIREFOX and go to google and type UBLOCK ORIGIN FOR FIREFOX and install that addon... now your browser has the best popup and add blocker in the world.
Thanks Joshua! When you get a chance to look at the tablets, please do let me know, I think I'm probably just going to pick out the chinese tablet you say to get! Not worried about spyware, this would be mainly used by kid to play games and stuff, to me maybe just to surf the web. But I don't want one that is neutered by any stretch. Thanks!!!

Honestly, even when I search Amazon for "G99 tablets" most if not all that look better on some specs than the one you posted seem to not have the G99 chip.

regardless of what tablet you buy you first must decide on the screen size. The Samsung is 11"... then there is a 10" size and then there is a 8.4" size. I feel the larger the tablet the more prone to cracking your screen (that is how all my tablets die Smilie.

But the CHEAPEST G99 with 6GB of RAM are these two... both running Android 13.

FOR MORE MONEY...

11" G99 8GB

Here is a 8.4" Android 13 8GB and 256GB and G99 of course... (you can also see the price of the iplay60 mini pro and the iplay60 mini turbo)
https://www.amazon.com/ALLDOCUBE-...=8-18&th=1

Here is a 11" with 8GB and 256GB ....

I am going to stop here but there are so so so many more. First thing I would do is list your size in Amazon for example "G99 11" tablet" or "G99 10.1" tablet" or "G99 8.4" tablet". Realize that you will most likely never get an upgrade (but you might) and the OS you get is the one you will live with on that device. So if Android 15 is important to you then that should be part of your search.

It is sad about how the information is presented.

Some brands that I am familar with are Teclast, Alldocube and Lincplus but I am sure the others are just as good.

Unfortunately you need to really search for the CPU and don't get fooled, the G99 is the only one you want. The better CPU's are WAY more money. So the first thing is to make sure you are on a tablet with the correct CPU.

Then you need to investigate the memory of each tablet. Like I said, most list total virtual memory possible and in the pictures or description it usually states how much is actual RAM and how much is virtual. You will not want to activate the virtual RAM because it will slow down your tablet.

The adds on Amazon are pretty clear about hard drive space. And what Android version.

And the tablets that NEVER mention virtual ram or CPU... stay away regarless of how pretty it looks. Don't get hooked up on the OS version. I think Android 14 or higher is fine and even 13 should be good for kids.

And good luck.

The last thing I will say is that I purchased a Lincplus T3 for $90 almost 3 years ago and I was impressed. I also have the Alldocube Iplay Mini50 two years ago and I was also impressed. And now I have my ZTE Redmagic Astra Gaming tablet and I am in love... beyond impressed.

The LAST THING... cases... I almost always buy a droop proof case and cases may be limited with some of these models that I have listed above.

Thank you Joshua! OK, I went with this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-T...156&sr=8-5

Seemed to check all the boxes - G99, 8 GB real ram, Android 15, bigger 12" screen (really like big screens despite cracking risk), Widevine support you mentioned. But if you think this was a bad choice for any reason let me know, happy to cancel/return it for another one. Thanks again!

So I really don't know what sized you want BUT... if I was going to buy the cheapest Chinese Tablet for my kid I may end up getting the Lincplus T3

OR

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...in_prod%3A

And I am leaning towards the iplay 60 mini turbo for a few reasons.....
1. it has a SnapDragon 6 gen 1 which is about 33% faster then the SnapDragon 695 or the G99.
2. it is the CHEAPEST tablet in the world that has USB 3.1, so you can do HDMI out to your TV if you like. That means this tablet with a bluetooth keyboard can control your TV.
3. lots and lots of cases... the iplay50 mini pro and the iplay 60mini pro cases all fit.

I had the Tab S9 and my kid cracked the screen of the Lincplus T3 (could not find a proper case), I ended up giving my kid my Samsung Tab S9 and I purchased this tablet. I used it for a little over a year and got my dream tablet... ZTE Redmagic Astra Gaming tablet and now it acts as a backup. I got the alldocube mini 60 turbo about 1.5 year ago and I paid $130. Todays price of $140 is doable... I also purchased it from Aliexpress. It is over $100 more on Amazon from a third party seller.

The case that I got and I love is this one.... you can chuck the pen and the strap... like if I can get this style case for every tablet I own I would. The ring in the back allows you to prop it up on any side. Plus it is droop proof. If you choose one, get a case for the iplay 60 mini pro. It fits perfect for the iplay 60 mini turbo.

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...in_prod%3A

and you can buy a glass protector if you like.

But please realize that this is the 8.4" tablet... (which I think is the perfect size).

If only Samsung would sell this in the 5G version that is unlocked, but yet they don't. The amount of bloatware is massive but you can eventually get past that if you try hard enough. The price ain't bad, but for 64 GB in the year 2025, not 2005.
Wife has one. Paid $159 with included book cover at costco. Very little bloat that you can't uninstall. After cleaning it up only 14gb was used by system. And 4/64gb is plenty for what she uses it for. It's low to midrange, nothing high end.
