I've had these for a few years and they work well for the price. Nothing special but is nice to have USB for PC and BT for my phone. Coworkers have said the mic is not the best. I was surprised to learn recently it works with my PS4.
I bought these for $40 a few months ago and enjoyed their comfort and overall mic/sound, but the overall lack of high volume led to me returning them. If volume is not an issue for you, this is a good buy.
I use mine for using with the PS5. Sometimes for games, but mostly for watching TV at night without disturbing anyone. It supports Tempest audio, and the USB dongle doesn't constantly blink when I turn the headphones off.

Do you use USB dongle with your PS5 or straight Bluetooth connection?
I used these for about a year, they weren't terrible but they weren't amazing either. Then I discovered that Corsair has some pretty solid deals on their website and got something way fancier for not crazy money. Virtuoso RGB in an ugly color for $100? yes please! That mic will have people thinking you have some crazy expensive setup. They also have some decent bundles (<$100) with the scuf controller but the headsets aren't quite that high end.

I actually learned a month or so into it that there is an auto enabled volume limiter feature. If you hold the mute and volume up button down together for a few seconds it ups the volume. I can play video games and listen to music and while it's not noise canceling, with the volume adjustment I can't really hear the kids or TV in the next room.
15 yo has asked for a new headset for use with his PS5 for xmas. He's currently using a wired headset but I don't think he cares either way. Is this a good option or are there better options? I'm trying to stay under $100.

better is a relative term. Depends on how serious of a gamer he is. I play fortnight and other FPS games and the audio quality is excellent. It's light weight and comfy. This will not take abuse though. It's not cheaply made but also not a tank. Great for an adult but for a 15 year old, durability could be an issue.

Thank you! Helpful point on durability. He plays several FPS and sports games. His current cheapo headset has withstood the beating for a few years but I presume it's not doing well at this point. Will keep looking!

Would've been nice for a backup or travel pair. Recently replaced my headset and a decent headset is crazy expensive now
