I own this flashlight, and I like it. I believe I purchased mine directly from Sofirn.

My main critique is that while the **build quality is very good, it results in significant weight.** If I could change one thing, I would suggest using a lighter, more fragile material, as items strapped to a head typically do not require such extreme durability. This change would necessitate better heat dissipation, likely through additional cooling fins, a trade-off I would accept.

My first light was the HS41, which uses a larger battery and is heavier. Wearing it on my hard hat all night resulted in noticeable strain from the weight. This model mitigates that issue by utilizing a slightly smaller battery.

It would be an excellent enhancement if it featured separate **rotational knobs** for both brightness and light selection. Outside of that, I appreciate the design. Ideally, the existing switches would be dedicated solely to power and programmable presets.

Regarding thermals, I think there should be a small **air gap behind the LED** instead of using the entire flashlight body as the primary heat sink, but I understand these are all design trade-offs.

If I had to grab one light to go out, say, trick-or-treating, I'd put this in my pocket. It provided the necessary light whenever we needed to address the fact that the costume my three-year-old was wearing kept causing her to trip.

Lastly I should mention I've only used the hands-free sensor one time trying it out. I find the feature a waste of space, the rest of the light is fine.

I have one, it really is a nice headlamp. I have a few other sofirn headlamps, a smaller one, and a larger one that is asymetric. This one is nicer and more comfortable. Definitely recommend at this price.

Anyone have experience with these? Seems a little too good to be true.
For the price, its a good light. Yes, it is on the heavier side but it's durable. I like the fact that it's not permanently attached to the head strap. I take mine of the head strap and use it on my road bike. Also, the battery is not built in, which means you can carry extra 18650 with you so you don't have to worry about running out of battery.

I bought this directly from Sofirn before and use it all the time when fixing cars in the dark. Because of its all metal construction, I do not handle this light gently and it keeps on kicking. Super bright. Great for scooping dog poop at night.

How long does the battery last? Is it good for long runs?
In my experience, a full 18650 headlamp with the battery in the front is probably going to be uncomfortably heavy and bouncy for running.

Did you get from Alli Express? My sofirn flashlight, that I purchased from all express, battery went bad after about 1 year.
Then buy a new battery -- 18650 batteries cost a few bucks!

Geat light at this price.

I am amazed that no one mentions that it can used for increasing your protien intake. Just open your mouth while wearing this headlamp and instant bug diet. YMMV

I have kind of found the opposite. I was using another Sofirn 18650 right angle tube style light with a single band and it got quickly irritating and uncomfortable. Switching to this has great upgrade in comfort with the over head strap. I find it much more of a pleasure to wear and it does not get irritating. The build seems lighter than the right angle tube style 18650 I had but that may not be the case but the comfort is there for sure.

Exactly I'm not buying anything from AliExpress they are a joke
I discovered that when I order Sofirn on Ali it comes from the same US originating address that orders from Amazon do, yet at a significant discount.

I have near fifty orders in with Ali and have not had a problem one. I can not say the same for my last a fifty Amazon orders.

I would be a fool to pay $55 to Amazon versus the $21 here for the same thing. That goes against the whole nature of a deal site. If you are advising people to pay twice the price for the same thing I have to assume you are joking or are pulling our leg.

If shopping trauma has hurt you in some bad way their must be some support group for you somewhere but crapping on a good deal that someone took the time to post is not the place for you to get your bad feelings out.

AliExpress is a platform of multiple sellers - just like ebay or Amazon. There are good sellers and bad sellers. I never post anything to SD from sellers I haven't used personally.

This particular seller is an official Sofirn store. I've made 8 purchases from them this year, and all items arrived within 4-7 business days. Zero issues.

There was not a single time the coupon worked for me on AliExpress. When new account or not, even when all conditions seemingly met, the site manages to deny the coupons.
