these ladders surprisingly don't go on sale very often. this is the first time they've been on sale for about a year at either lowe's or home depot.

my dad said he needed a new step ladder almost a year ago, and i set a slickdeal alert at the time. nothing had popped up until the last week or so

The web page said 29 in stock (and still does a day later) but they had zero that I or the employees could find.

What a convenient mistake for my local HD to make. Crazy how Lowe's also makes the exact same mistake, and I yet again find myself squandering my time trying to buy something that isn't actually there.

These companies aren't people, folks. Calculated mistakes are normal. Hack deals are deliberate. Be cordial to the nice person behind the counter, but adversarial with the corporation itself.

This has happened to me every time, including when I bought my last ladder. It was WAY up high and I had to find it and get someone to go up and get it down for me. If it's in stock, it's generally somewhere up high and they won't take the time to look, but will help you if you think you see it.

I need an 8' ladder and they have 8' for $79. Also Lowe's is on Door Dash. Delivery is free. Is it F'd up to use DD to deliver this? lol I can't get it home and paying $79 fee from Lowes/HD is crazy.

Edit: can confirm door dash works. Got the 8' from DD with free delivery. Tipped well and was still less than if I had to rent a pick up to get it myself.
