Pioneer does not make its own TVs; instead, the brand name is licensed to other companies. In the US, the TVs are now manufactured under license by Compal Electronics using TCL panels, and sold exclusively at Best Buy, where they run on the Xumo TVOS platform, reports Consumer Reports and Light Reading.

If you are a videophile, you will probably nitpick every little thing. Most of these cheapo TV's are good enough for the average person if hooked up to better speakers and some minor picture tweaks.

Why would anyone purchase this over the cheaper QLEDs like the Walmart Hisense? This has more Thumbs up.
American public is running on a bad economy and doesn't care about the frilly marketing junk

it will stop working after a year lol
I did a lot of research on the 50" model when it went on sale a while back and had a lot of negative comments with no sourcing or specific reason why which got me curious.

Based on the reviews and buyer reviews it won't stop working after a year it'll stop working within 2 weeks. The problems in negative reviews are almost always immediately on arrival or within the first couple weeks. If it goes 2 weeks without issues there's not many reviews that mention problems later on or it dying after a year etc. There's still some but not anymore than any other product. To me while having a higher than normal immediate issues number isn't exactly a positive I would definitely prefer my TV fail right away when I can easily return or replace it than have a model with 0 on arrival complaints and a bunch of complaints about it failing after the return period ended etc.

Haha brings back to the late 2000's, where the elites had pioneer plasmas and the "ballin on a budget" crew had the panasonics. I was just a college kid dreaming of getting one of those to replace my CRT. Thanks for the memories.

My 58" panny plasma is still rocking in the bedroom. I wonder how many pioneers are kicking.

I just picked up a Pioneer Elite Pro-FHD1 just two days ago on FB MarketPlace for free. Near mint condition. I always wanted to try a plasma. Other than a annoying buzz, its great.

Anyone figured out the best picture settings for this TV? Sound is great and Pic is okay but could use settings.
