Dollar General's gift card promo is strongest for Xbox and select restaurant cards, with 20 percent off Xbox Game Pass cards and discounts on brands like Cracker Barrel, Cabela's, Bass Pro, Domino's, Burger King, Panera, and LongHorn. The ad is confusing, though, because the picture shows Game Pass Core while the text points to Game Pass Ultimate, and the $10 off two $25 cards offer appears limited to one transaction. Store policy also varies, since some locations only accept cash for gift cards. A practical pick if the right card is in stock and your store allows card payments.

Common Questions (5)

  • It varies by store. Some Dollar General locations only accept cash for gift cards, while others accept credit cards with no limits, so it's worth checking your local store before shopping.

    tunabreathWildwilly23taiwanremdak

  • The flyer shows Domino's, Xbox, Burger King, Panera, and a few other brands; Domino's appears twice. PF Changs is not on the flyer, and the $10 off 2 cards $25+ offer is limited to one transaction.

    FabulousCabbage629FabulousCabbage629cookerrr

  • The ad is inconsistent: the picture shows Game Pass Core, while the text says Game Pass Ultimate. An in-store sale tag reportedly showed the Game Pass Ultimate card graphic, but the exact discounted card should be confirmed before buying.

    SubZtxdoppelgangaImpaler7

  • Microsoft only sells Game Pass as monthly subscriptions, so double-dipping with this gift card deal does not work. For online play, the lowest needed tier is Game Pass Essential, and five $25 cards would cost about $100 with this deal.

    leonivthrollyslackerrudie

  • The maximum balance on an Xbox account is $1,000. That matters if you plan to stock up on multiple Xbox or Game Pass gift cards.

Nope, disappointed at that as well as no Cracker Barrel (usually give as gifts to parents). Sometimes DG ad offerings are regional though, so it may be possible.
Last page of the ad has 20% off Cracker Barrel and other restaurant gift cards.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I think someone's trying to pull one over on us guys. I just did a little research and found this site:
https://blackfriday.com/ads/black...ral?page=6
shows the ad OP posted but look at "Instant" it turns inter giberish at the last two letters. The title directly below that(not show in OP) is complete nonsense. Not even letters. But this site:
https://www.crazyforcouponing.com...2052_n.jpg
Shows the ad nice and clean everything perfectly legible and says "20% off Xbox $25 and Game Pass Ultimate gift cards"

I think someone might be trying to dupe us with an AI edited ad. Not OP just someone out there trying to sew chaos.

I don't think there are, but I do know that some DGs only accept cash as payment for gift cards so I'd inquire about your local stores policy first.
This is extremely important, as many stores are cash only on gift cards. Does anyone know of any DG stores in Michigan from Battle Creek to Ann Arbor that accept credit cards when purchasing a gift card?

Man I wish this was 50% off Xbox gift cards. I would've stockpiled in my account for their next console which is basically going to be a PC for half of. Would've been a great deal.

I hope at least one of my credit cards has a 5% cash back offer like so many times I received and used this year for this deal.

I'm starting to find DG stores in DMV areas that only take cash on GC purchases. They never said why, but they have signs so you wouldn't need to wait in line to find out at the cashiers. Technically there is nothing preventing their point of sale device from taking credit card payments, but they just won't do it. I've been telling them that credit card purchases on GC can be traced, whereas cash introduces money laundering issues. I don't know why stores are doing this. I have two DG stores within 40 miles apart that do things differently with GC purchases.

Costco'.com has (4) $25 CB GC for 20% off. Doesn't look like you need to be a member to purchase e-GC. https://www.costco.com/p/-/cracke...4000406863

Can you post a source? Every place I can find that ad online is saying 20% off of the Xbox $25 gift card and Game Pass Ultimate gift cards not 50% off.
Not 50% off its 20%

Does anyone know if you can still use Xbox gift cards to purchase consoles directly from Microsoft? It's been a couple years and I'm trying to help a friend save on their kid's Christmas gift.

I used to get my cousins a year of xbl every Xmas but they changed that to something different now.

What combination of these cards would I need to buy for them to have one year of online service each?

They literally only play fortnight and maybe some form of halo. If there's one with fewer bells and whistles that's better for them.

Sorry I'm a Playstation guy and I only ever need to know this once a year.
