In case anybody else wonders:
Please note that this product is optimized and upgraded exclusively for Bambu Lab's AMS (1st gen), and is not compatible with Automatic Material Systems from other Brands.

$97.20 through the Coins section: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mq8y57J

Would be all over this if I hadn't just ordered a second one as an open box from Sunlu on Amazon for even less.

Anyone have one? I have two ams units. Seems worthwhile but curious what users vs marketers say.

$119 on amazon, worth the extra $20 for me to get 5% back, easy returns, and faster shipping.

I have 3 AMS units and have this on one of them. I really like it and when my budget allows I will be buying another. This brought PETG back in to my printing. My AMS had trouble keeping my PETG dry enough and it just became annoying enough for me that I stopped printing PETG for a while.

This runs independently of the AMS. Meaning you can use this as a dryer regardless if your printer is on. I set it at the humidity level I want and it goes on automatically if the level goes below that. While I know (at least I think unless some mods are made) this won't work with the AMS 2, this has the benefit of being able to dry while printing which the AMS 2 can not.

If you have the Sunlu S4 (possibly other Sunlu dryers as well, but I only have the S4), the touch controls are very similar.

Can you easily prop this up for the slightly larger spools with the existing expander models out there for the original lid? I have to do that now with the original lid for some of the spools I have.

I have both this and the X4. They are designed for different purposes. This AMS heater is designed to go replace the lid of a Bambu AMS so you can dry spools while either during printing or while you just want to dry spools in the AMS. It can't be used without an AMS unless you make custom modifications. Purely as a dryer, the X4 would be a better choice as it can reach higher temps and has separate controls if you want dry two different filaments simultaneously that require different drying temperatures.

I didn't take exact measurements, but I do have some of my Elegoo and Polymaker rolls with adapters that without this AMS Heater I had to prop up a bit (by folding those little tabs prior to closing the lid). There doesn't seem to be a lot more height, but I have not had to prop the lid open at all to fit these spools like I did before.

How do you get it to come back on at the humidity level? Maybe mine just hasn't dropped low enough to come back on but I don't see a "close" time option like on the S4 dryer

I'm not in front of my unit right now, but I believe this is how: Hit the set button to get to filament type, press the arrow until you get to "RH" (I believe that stands for relative humidity), hit the set button again until you get to the RH in the middle of the screen... once there you can set your desired humidity level with the arrow buttons.

So, I guess if you have it set for PETG drying temperature you would have to take out your PLA rolls? Basically, only one type of filament in all four slots at a time or at least while doing an initial drying of a roll?

Can PLA be over-dryed? Honest question, I'm not sure.

In theory you are correct. You can dry PETG at PLA temps though it will take longer. You can also customize the temperature you want. But yes, On this AMS I currently only have PETG. I have PLA in my other two.

One of my PETG rolls had a ring adapter made from PLA and I forgot and the PETG temp did warp the PLA adapter. I only noticed when I got an error during a print "failed to feed filament" and then saw why lol.

Have you ever retuned on Ali? It's pretty damn easy. Shipping isn't anything like it was several years ago. They have a lot of local warehouses too. I have returned two 3d printers and zero issues. Hell, the $40 set of nozzles I tried to return they gave me the refund and said keep it.
