First I'm hearing of this device. Looked up a speculation review and based on the chip they're putting on it sounds like it'll cap at Ds games for playability so 3ds may be out of the question.

It definitely lacks the horsepower for anything but the simplest 3DS games.
Been hearing this is underpowered and the resolution might look worse than advertised, but I think the only 3ds game I want to play is fire emblem awakening and I'm unsure if it can handle it

For those who does not want to dive into all the Chinese retro consoles: YES, it should run all DS library with that weak processor. NO, it is not powerful enough to run 3DS games. Screens will be better than original DS screens.
Want to run all 3DS library - google Ayn Thor, even Lite version will deliver. Or wait for second iteration of RG DS.

it will run very light 3DS games... but the biggest hurdle will be the screen being way smaller on the top
First time I've seen one of these cheap Anbernic handhelds (for less than $100) feature native WiFi. I'm on the fence a/b buying one of these since I'm apprehensive a/b its performance due to its specs so I'm holding off till there are verifiable independent reviews available.
I love the SBC community - they are coming out with a "DS" handheld for under $100, and people are upset it is only capable of playing DS games, lol
Amen, the hate makes no sense...especially because the same people who expect high end 3DS performance also still want dual touch screens AND sub $100 prices. Did they also complain when Anbernic came out with the GBA targeted RG34XX, it didn't play PS3, and it wasn't 4WD?

With Anbernic specifically there's stuff like the 40xx or the cubexx or the 35xx pro that are below $100 and currently available below $50 that have wifi without needing a dongle and you can use retroachivements
There's also stuff like the TrimUI Smart Pro in that $50 neighborhood with wifi on it
As far as the RGDS since the chip isn't powerful enough to run MelonDS reasonably you're stuck with Drastic so things like no retroachivements for people who care about that kind of thing
RetroGameCorps put out a video discussing some thoughts about it and using another device with a similar chip to estimate how it might do

It will not, unfortunately. The dual screen devices that can run heavier 3DS games like Awakening are all significantly more expensive.

but that's still dumb as there is no other device in the market like this for $100
