The Yeti Pro Blackout is a large USB condenser mic that stands out for clear voice capture, multiple pickup patterns, and solid physical controls. It has been used for years without issues, and the sound is described as especially strong for gaming, meetings, and vocals. The deal price is called the lowest seen, and the coupon worked earlier in the day. The main drawbacks are the mini USB connector, the headphone jack defaulting to audio output on some laptops, and mute not always persisting after power cycling, making it a capable but slightly dated pick.
Common Questions (5)
At $59, it is described as a very strong buy for USB vocal recording and gaming, with clear voice capture and long-term reliability. It also has more pickup patterns and better physical controls than the Bumblebee II, though the sound advantage is described as only marginal when capturing more than just your voice.
It uses mini-USB, not USB-C or micro-USB. That older connector is a common complaint and is the main practical downside mentioned for the mic.
No. If it is muted and power is cycled, it comes back unmuted, so you should not rely on mute state persisting across reconnects or restarts.
It worked for some buyers, but it also appears to have been claimed already for others. If the code fails, the deal may no longer be available at that discount.
Yes, it can. After plugging it into a new laptop, the mic's headphone jack may become the default output, so you may need to switch your system audio back to your normal speakers.
