This iBUYPOWER Element gaming desktop pairs a Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an RTX 5070, 32GB of RAM, and a 2TB SSD, making it a strong all around gaming and VR machine. The extra CPU headroom, larger storage, and two year warranty stand out versus cheaper 7800X3D and Walmart alternatives, and the standard parts make future upgrades easier. The main knocks are price, since similar 5070 systems have sold for less, and some concern about loud CPU cooling or hotter running. Overall, it looks like a well equipped prebuilt with solid long term value.

Common Questions (5)

  • The Costco model adds a newer Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2TB SSD, and a 2-year warranty versus Walmart's 7800X3D, 1TB SSD, and 1-year warranty. The gaming performance difference between the two CPUs is expected to be small, so the extra cost mainly buys storage and warranty.

    WilliamMunny63WilliamMunny63jtree1

  • It uses off-the-shelf parts, so the GPU, PSU, cables, and motherboard are standard and replaceable. That makes future upgrades or case reuse much easier than systems with proprietary components.

    duhFooLWilliamMunny63

  • The 7800X3D version was reported to stay very quiet after about 10 minutes of 1440p gaming, likely helped by liquid cooling. The 9800X3D version has also been flagged for a loud CPU fan in reviews, so cooling noise may depend on the exact configuration.

    lnvaderGirWilliamMunny63

  • The deal price is $1,499.99, down from $1,899.99 with a $400 manufacturer savings window listed through 12/22/25, while supplies last. A Costco credit card plus Executive membership can add about 4% cash back, roughly $60.

    jtree1nlink4

  • It should handle VR well. For PC-to-headset streaming, Steam Link is free and Virtual Desktop is a paid alternative, while Meta Air Link is the option mentioned for wired mode.

Stupid question, but is a Costco membership needed to get this price on the 17th? I don't have one near me and have no clue what I'd do with the membership afterward.
You will need a membership. But you can try Walmart, they have a few good deals on iBUYPOWER systems also.

The reviews mention the CPU fan being loud. Any good alternatives that can handle a 9800x3D and stay quiet under load?

I have the iBUYPOWER 7800x3D version and ran it for 10 minutes gaming 1440p. The fans were very quiet IMO, might in part be due to the liquid cooling.

Costco PC has a newer slightly better CPU, 2TB SSD vs 1TB for the Walmart PC and 2 year Warranty vs 1 year plus 90 say return policy.

Does anyone know what the price of this is in store? I am wondering if it might be cheaper, or if I should just jump on this now. My son was looking at building his own gaming PC, but his part list is $1350 already, so this might be better already put together and a warranty?

I just picked one up. Looks good with all the RGB but I'm not really an RGB guy. I got the one with MSI board and Asus GPU. The ram is cas 42. The power supply is not modular. It's quite so far. No complain. I haven't benchmark it though. Also one reciewer said it gets hot and i haven't experience that yet.

What about the RAM speed of 5200Mhz? I was hoping for 6000. Is this a noticeable difference?

We ended up with a different board and GPU than what was on the floor model, How do we get one with the Asus GPU?
