3rd party vendor - not really Newegg if that matters for people when sourcing.

The amount of Microcenter in-store exclusives makes my blood boil! There's no good reason not living near to a MC should be such a punishment.

I bought 2. I think they were actually a little less... but I am too lazy to get up and look at the receipt (I was driving for 3.5 hours for this, 2 motherboards and a Bamboo Labs 3d printer).

Excellent cpu if you're limited on the PSU power and dont want to spend money to upgrade it. I have this in a HTPC SFF build, its paired with a Amd Powercolor Radeon 7900XT and powered by a 7 year old Corsair SFX SF600w psu. It is miserly on power consumption. It sips power at 20-22 watts even when under full load while playing MS2024 at max res in 4k ultra settings, which leaves some room for the 7900XT which officially requires a 750w psu. Total power consumption of the entire system as measured at wall socket via a Kilawatt meter never crosses 470 watts full load, leaving 130 watts for any power spiked by the gpu. Perhaps I may have seen spiked more than that, I will never know unless I measure it with monitoring instruments, but the system has never randomly shut down.

If not psu limited as in my case, I would suggest the 7800X3d instead. Its not much more cost wise; But if you're looking for power efficiency this is the one to get.

I just snatched a pair of these up to upgrade my kids gaming PC - price per dollar! Pairing them up with a Newegg deal from last week where I got some B650 boards with free RAM Smilie screaming for the penny pinching and then I can sell their AM4 setups to recoup practically all of the cost of this particular upgrade Big Grin Now they too will be on a longer shelf life socket so maybe next upgrade will only need to be a CPU4 or more years from now.

Enjoy your purchases. Smilie

I went a bit mad last year and built 2 all new AM4 systems last year, along with several AM5 systems for in home use, with a few 7900XT/XTX cards (guilty of consumerism), and TBH I couldn't tell any difference when gaming at 4k ultra. I only play Microsoft Flight Simulator and some PC racing titles like F1, Forza series.

Maybe it is around a 10% fps if measured, but not visually at least to me.
