Many modern cell phones need 35W for charging. This is vastly underpowered for two modern phones hence the closeout pricing.

I get what you're saying, but my current dash has 1 x USB-A port at 10w and it's now occupied by a wireless AA dongle. My phone can use up to 30w so this will let me charge faster than it ever has in the car, and without unplugging. And it'll still work if I get one of these 35w+ phones. And still got the extra type A port for older devices. And it's $8.

Not everyone needs to use this to fast/max charge 2 flagship phones on every ride.

Yes correct, I just need one to plug in while being used as a GPS.

All the comments above are equally valid and helpful. This item is a good value if you are okay with 30W charging, which is still pretty decent.

Note that a phone that is advertised to charge at UPTO 35W likely can only use that max rate for a relatively short amount of time and at very low charge level. Most of the time it will charge at rate below 30W.

I got the 52.5W Anker 323 car charger for $15 for my 68W charging Motorola Edge+ 2023 phone even though that $167.5W charger exists because the phone only charges at the full 68W in a very narrow charge range. It mostly charges at 50W or lower.
