This Anchor Hocking glass storage set stands out as a low-cost way to get full-size glass containers for meal prep, snacks, and leftovers. The glass itself is praised as useful and good value at around $20, with the rectangular shapes helping with fridge space. The biggest drawback is the lids, which can warp in the microwave or a heated dishwasher and are often expensive or hard to replace. Some lids do fit Pyrex or Snapware, and workarounds like plastic wrap or spare lids are being used.
The glass containers can work well for prep-ahead ingredient storage and can also serve as pet water bowls when lids are unavailable.
The set can feel like a good value at around $20 when it arrives and the glass quality meets expectations.
The included lids can fit other glass containers in the same Anchor Hocking and Pyrex mix, which helps reduce waste.
The rectangular container shapes can help with space management in storage areas.
The plastic lids can warp if they are microwaved or placed in a heated dishwasher.
The lids can crack over time, and replacement lids may not be sold separately through Anchor.
Glass quality control can be inconsistent, with chipped edges or hairline cracks showing up in multiple sets.
Shipping may cost $10 even when the order total is over $35, which can undercut the deal value.
