This Hart 6 gallon wet and dry vacuum looks like a compact garage and cleanup tool that punches above its price, with strong suction, a metal body, and enough durability for years of home use. It has handled shop dust collection, wet sump cleanup, and repeated water dumping without failing, and the stainless steel tank has shown no rust after sitting with water inside. The main drawbacks are the short cord, the small hose, and the cloth filter setup, which can let fine dust escape and may need an upgraded cartridge, bag, or better filter. Replacement parts also sound harder to source than with some rivals, making it a solid light duty pick rather than a heavy commercial one.
garage and workshop owners who want a metal-bodied wet/dry vac for general shop messes (including simple dust collection) because commenters said it's been running perfectly for years and held up well even after abuse.
people buying around the $40 price point who just want a decent corded shop vac for typical garage cleaning because multiple commenters called it nearly bulletproof and highly recommended at this price.
homeowners who need to vacuum water during a sump backup or heavy rain because this model handled repeated wet-sump cleanups for about an hour without failing and even left zero rust after leaving some water inside.
DIYers who expect strong dust filtration like a Shop-Vac pleated setup because commenters reported the stock cloth filter doesn't hold back much dust and can blow smaller particles out, creating a dust cloud.
buyers who plan to use it for frequent heavy-duty wet/dry work because commenters warned the smaller hose diameter and weaker filtration make it more of a garage-use vacuum than an industrial-duty one.
people who anticipate needing replacement parts soon because one commenter said getting replacement parts from Hart is difficult.
