This Hart 6 gallon wet and dry vacuum looks like a compact garage and cleanup tool that punches above its price, with strong suction, a metal body, and enough durability for years of home use. It has handled shop dust collection, wet sump cleanup, and repeated water dumping without failing, and the stainless steel tank has shown no rust after sitting with water inside. The main drawbacks are the short cord, the small hose, and the cloth filter setup, which can let fine dust escape and may need an upgraded cartridge, bag, or better filter. Replacement parts also sound harder to source than with some rivals, making it a solid light duty pick rather than a heavy commercial one.
Common Questions (5)
No. It uses a cloth bag-style filter, not the heavier pleated paper filter found on many Shop-Vacs. That setup can let more fine dust through unless you upgrade to a better filter or use a bag.
It can work for larger debris and even simple shop dust collection, but the stock filter is reported to let smaller particles blow back out. For finer dust, a HEPA-rated filter or a bag is the safer choice.
It has held up for years in garage and shop use, including abuse and repeated wet cleanup, and the metal body resists dents and rust. The unit has also been reported running for about four years without issues.
It is fine for garage cleanup, leaves, grass, dirt, and light shop use, but it is not ideal for heavy-duty or commercial work. The small hose size is also a limitation for larger debris and more demanding jobs.
Yes. It has strong suction for wet pickup, and the 6-gallon tank fills quickly when vacuuming water, so you may need to dump it often. It has been run repeatedly for about an hour without failure and showed no rust after water was left inside for a few days.
