The catch of doing it that way is that you have to still be a WalMart+ member at the time of the future repair, and the $50 price is a temporary promo from the usual $98 per year. So you'd potentially spend hundreds of dollars to maintain your hazard coverage for the life of the tire.

If you keep your car a long time then road hazard would be worth it when you get longlife tires like these.

Also its included (no charge) if you have walmart+. Since wlamrt+ is $50 right now better to sign up for that and then buy the tires.

They way I read it as long as you have it when you buy you're covered.
The warranty is tied to the tire, not your membership. But I do not have W+ so I'm going by what they have on their site.

"Limited to tire(s) purchased & installed at Walmart Auto Care Centers. Active Walmart+ membership required at time of purchase & installation."
"You must be an active trial or paid Walmart+ member when you purchase & have your tires installed at a Walmart Auto Care Center to receive the road hazard warranty. The warranty is tied to the purchase of the tire."

These are pretty quiet as long as you rotate them on time and keep the air pressure correct.

I was hoping this was the case, but the website says the following:

member.

¹Active Walmart+ membership required at time of repair. Vehicle & tire restrictions apply. ²Limited to tire(s) purchased & installed at Walmart Auto Care Centers. Active Walmart+ membership required at time of purchase & installation. Vehicle restrictions apply. Road hazard warranty not available in NY.

Sure...direct injection operating at 3000 psi resulting in fuel dilution. Turbos spinning at 200K rpm killing motor oil. Stuck low tension piston rings causing loss of compression. You obviously don't know jack about modern engine design.
Boomer can throw out car terminology. Good job.
I guess Honda and Toyota should hire you.

I read the website. There are two benefits listed on the website for auto care. Free flat repair reads as a benefit to any Walmart + member regardless of where / when they purchased tires. The road hazard warranty is separate and applies to tire purchases from Walmart and install based on Walmart + status at time of purchase.

Search for Honda fuel dilution and Toyota low tension piston ring oil consumption. How about Toyota engine recalls blamed on machining debris? Started in 2023. Now affecting 2024 and 2025 models. Unfortunately, basic google search is also a task that you have not acquired!

so you measure reliability based on NHTSA Recalls?

I guess your argument makes sense. NHTSA recalls weren't strict until 2000 when that law was passed.

No recall = no issues, right?

Honda extended warranty for fuel dilution problem. Keep digging that stupid grave!

Basic installation package is $18 per tire, which includes mounting, lifetime balancing ,TPMS service, and valve stems. May vary by location. For an extra $10 per tire you can add road hazard warranty. These services can be added in cart if you plan on picking up at your local store.
I did $18 and they gave me road hazard for free because I have Walmart+ (got it for better than free)

Well, looks like they removed the 30 day trail membership. You can select 1 month option for 12.95. Here's the deal I have a order at Sams for Maxlife 2 coming in at 731 OTD. I could get these OTD at 628 if I do the 12.95 plus membership and cancel in 28 days. Are these pretty much the same tire as Maxlife. 235/45/18.

Maxlife2 is the newer version. The Outlast are the walmart version of the original Maxlife.

I just viewed them at Wally. I told the guy I had nice Camry wheels and don't want them scratched. He said honestly some techs here don't care. He would recommend taking them somewhere else. If he does it he will try his best to not scratch. WTH...

Most walmarts have decent machines I have seen.

best thing to do is video your car at walmart showing all 4 wheels and then turn around and show the building (walmart). Make sure the date/time stamp is on.

Then the keys in. If there is any damage they can't say it was there before. I'm a mechanic but do not install tires. So I tell my customers to do this.

Good idea. That was not my usual Wally. I recently put some cheap ones on my old Ford and wheels are scratched to death. Only 2 were installed on the rear. Don't really notice anything different. I may do my usual Wally and take pictures and record.

I doubt you need to be w+ member to use road hazard. Road hazard warranty is added to invoice and you can always show it without w+ when you go for road hazard repairs.
walmarts not the same as it was a decade ago. They'll screw you over at any chance. that's why a lot of people stopped buying car batteries from them. its the same with tires.

Not true. Check FAQs, they clearly mention this scenario where you only need W+ at the time of purchase and not at the time of repair.

You are actually buying the hazard warranty and they will give you a receipt for it.
