I have this vacuum and i hate it =)
The older model Dyson DC33 was great but these newer editions just aren't what they used to be

What don't you like? We have a DC41 that's 15 years old and still running strong, but have thought about getting a second Dyson if a good deal pops up to keep in the basement instead of lugging ours up and down the stairs. I was about to jump on this until I read your comment.

I'm not a fan of my dyson ball vac. It looses suction too easily and the brush is not motorized - it only spins based on airflow. So it doesn't work great.

I'm not smart enough to figure out how to get the deal from Walmart. It shows the full price of $349

The eBay link seems to work. I was hoping to buy from Walmart because I thought it would be easier to return if there's a problem.

My mom had the Dyson Ball and it died. Like another commenter stated it has a lot of problems, mostly with the brush head system. I STILL use a DC33. The original DC33 animal eventually suffered from a cracked frame so I found another DC33. I will run it 'til the wheels fall off. And I kept all the parts from the animal so that may be a while.

The older Ball Animal typically has a wider cleaning head, so it covers more area per pass, which some people find faster and more satisfying for big open rooms. The new Ball Animal head is designed with anti‑tangle features and adjustable gates/settings, which is great on paper but adds moving parts and complexity that some people do not want. Sometimes if a household is mostly low‑pile carpet and not overwhelmed with long hair, users sometimes feel the older simpler head is just as effective, with less to fiddle with and less that can wear or break. Long‑time Dyson users often know exactly how their old Ball Animal behaves on rugs, thresholds, and edges, and they dislike relearning a new height/setting system that doesn't obviously improve their specific situation. Some people prefer older Dyson vacuums because they perceive them as tougher, simpler, and cheaper to keep running than many of the newer, more complex models. Older models are also often available at lower prices while still offering "good enough" suction and features for a lot of homes. Early Dysons upright vacuums are often described by owners as "built like a tank" and still running well after 10–20 years with only minor repairs. Older Dysons tend to have more straightforward, modular construction, so owners (or independent shops) can replace things like belts, hoses, and filters without special tools or whole assemblies. Newer designs are sometimes criticized for being "over‑engineered, with cheaper plastic" where you must buy a full head or assembly instead of a single failed component, making fixes more expensive and wasteful. Some people feel newer Dysons charge a large premium for smart features, lasers, and slightly higher suction that are nice to have but not essential for everyday cleaning, making older models feel like better value. Many users report little difference in actual cleaning performance for typical household messes, despite the newer models' advanced features. As newer models launch, the older Dysons drop in price but continue to offer reliable cleaning and don't require paying extra for features like lasers or possible robotic models that have Wi-Fi and may not be necessary for every user.

My experience with Squaretrade (Allstate) is it is legit. I got a Dyson last year that had a major flaw and they ended up completely refunding my purchase. See my comment on that deal here:

Also, this model gets decent ratings from rtings. Note it only comes with 3 accessories according to the eBay ad: combo tool, stair tool, tangle free turbine tool. Doesn't seem like it comes with the pet groomer.
