Edit: had to use PayPal itself as the payment method and I received reward points immediately.
Also if the account has already used PayPal as a payment method before, will it work? Anyone tried this? Does it have to be the first purchase using PayPal? Thanks.
All that said, would PayPal show an active promotion in my account, trigger it when the purchase is made, and not give the points 3-5 days later?

You will need an Android device I'm afraid. I clicked on my account on the Google Play App and selected "Gift Cards". There's many to choose from
